Title: Wakarusa Lineup
Post by: azaghal1981 on February 01, 2005, 05:46:00 pm
This festival has the best lineup I've seen so far but I'm partial to the whole jam thing. It sure as hell beats bonnaroo though.

  Karl Denson's Tiny Universe
Big Head Todd & The Monsters
  Junior Brown
  Son Volt
  The Samples

  Hot Buttered Rum String Band
  Railroad Earth
  Moonshine Still
  Hackensaw Boys
  Ari Hest
  Blueground Undergrass
  Shanti Groove
  Deep Fried Pickle Project
  The Gourds
  Matisyahu
  The Jeff & Vida Band
  Umphrey's McGee

Take a look at the name. Flip some letters, you have Bluegrass Underground. Bluegrass with an edge.

 Jazz Mandolin Project ?

Again, look at the name. Jazz, with mandolin in the lead. 3 piece I believe

Redsock plugs exit clov so much that I thought he was a member of the band. And I'm pretty sure he was at wakarusa for their set last year.

A few more of those "jam bands" aren't what you'd expect from an ordinary jam band. Umphrey's McGee are heavily prog-rock influenced and Tea Leaf Green are pretty jazz/funk-oriented.

Oh stop it will you. The best part about the Wakarusa line-up is that there is no Exit Clov, (at least not yet). Yeah, i was at that mess last year. My only time every seeing GBV, and i was forced to leave 5 songs into it... Still fuming over that one.

And we should ban azaghal for even mentioning that line-up. Certainly violating the jam policy on this board.

Oh, while we're at it, who's going to Exit Clov tonite?

Did anyone read this review (http://www.heresahint.org/portal/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=105) of the new Exit Clov EP?
