jill scott is playing not one, but five shows in the dc/baltimore area . . . and they are all almost sold out, except for the one which hasn't gone on sale yet. if you look at her tour, the only other place she playing more than one date per town is in new york city and oakland, ca. i guess i could sort-of understand if she was from here, but she grew up in philly. so what gives. do dc people get on their knees and worship this woman as the next savior of music? does she need to play everyday in march to satisfy the need? should we quit our jobs and demand more jill scott shows?

It better be good, cause there's no way I can justify paying 55.50 before fees to see her. I caught both shows (working) at the club, and she's definitely an awesome singer, but damn!
55 is a little steep.

jill scott got her start at howard-first show she did was at crampton amphitheatre on their campus. she's quite talented as a singer and songwriter. the demographics here are also heavily african american, and female, which is her core fan base.

didn't know that; thanks. but five shows? she can't even sell out any of the other shows on the recent tour, even radio city music hall, and she sells out five here? wow . . . i guess all the black women of the u.s. live in d.c. now. no wonder country music is so popular everywhere else.
