ok - ignoring who the artist might be would you be more likely to go see a show on
a) Sunday Sept 2 (Labor Day Sunday)
b) Tuesday Sept 4
c) Neither date
just curious.....would be interested to see what people think.....on the one hand a bunch of people could be out of town for the sunday date, but on the other for those that are left its a good night to go out because no work the next day???
-
Sunday. The day after a long weekend usually finds me very tired and broke.
-
sunday.
i just find it so much easier to head out to a show after a day of doing nothing then after a day of work (especially with work the following day).
-
Sunday as well.
-
Tuesday - then it wont matter if im out of town on a sunday :)

Sunday

tuesday... i'm almost certain to be out of town during the long weekend, and weekday shows aren't a big issue for me. especially if its for a good band - c'mon folks, one night with less than 9 hours of beauty-sleep isn't going to kill ya.
-
tuesday, because it's my birthday.

Tuesday

thanks for your responses guys, keep em coming!!

Normally, I'd say Sunday but I'll be out of town that weekend. So Tuesday.

so you have a representative sample now - care to spill the beans? if it's a quality act, i'd consider changing my travel plans to attend on sunday. if it's some no-name garage band... lemme know how it was, since it won't matter when they're playing. you've definitely got me curious now.

Thanks for the reponses folks - I think I am leaning towards Sunday....
Its definitely a quality act, not necessarily one that you've heard of.
His name is Dave Couse (http://myspace.com/davecouse), and he's one of my favorite artists of the last 15 years. He's solo now, but was in a legendary Irish band called A House (http://myspace.com/endlessart), that have a few fans here on the forum (Pollard - any interest in coming to DC for Labor Day??!!).
Great lyricist and a knack for creating perfect, albeit slightly vitriolic 3 minute pop songs.
Anyway, I'll be spamming the board alot more about this over the coming months but I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend coming to see him.
I am also happy to make sampler CDs for anyone who wants to hear a little more (quite frankly, the songs on the myspace pages are only a tiny slice of his work).
And I'll probably need to get street teamer tips from betty :)

I'm out of town through Monday, so Tuesday, but I already have a ticket for the Editors concert on Tuesday....

It wasn't clear from your first post.

Sunday, no question. The Tuesday after a three-day weekend is basically a Monday, which is roundly known to be the worst day of the week for a show. I've bagged on Monday shows often, even when I have tickets.
