Title: Fabchannel
Post by: vansmack on July 05, 2007, 07:26:00 pm
Have we talked about Fabchannel.com (http://www.fabchannel.com) yet?

Basically, they've filmed over 700 shows from two venues in Amsterdam and are streaming them in pretty high quality.  I've spent about 3 hours on there today and have been very impressed.  You can even make your own playlists of your favorite live tracks.

Check out the list of artists - it's pretty impressive.

LOL.  Nope, these are music shows.  My bad.  I have links for the other type of shows too, but that would be a violation of my user agreement here at the (mostly) family friendly 9:30 Board.

No prob - I'm here to please (on occassion).

Too bad we can't embed on this board, because if we could I'd embed the Wedding Present performing "Kennedy" a favorite of mine.  It also makes me miss Markie (who introdcued me to them).  Instead, here's the link:

Check the date, love...that post was from well over a year and a half ago.  The search function simply allowed me to revive it without making a whole new thread.

1.  filmed in amsterdam, and streamed at a high quality.   ;D

2.  vansmack lured me in with a thread called "fabchannel" as in i thought it was fab, as in gay camp like absolutely fabulous.   ;)

BUMMER:

Dear Fabchannel viewer,

After nine passionate and beautiful years of sharing the most amazing concert recordings with you, Fabchannel is stopping. A great number of record labels still won't allow us to record their artists. This prevents us from offering what we need to keep Fabchannel alive.

We want to sincerely thank you for all support through the years! It has been an amazing time, but unfortunately this is where it ends.   With a bleeding heart we're pulling the plug of our online archive Friday 13th of March. Until that time, enjoy your favorite concerts and who knows? we'll meet again.

huge bummer.

as an alternative, may i introduce you to http://www.moshcam.com/ from down under.  the selection of shows is, dare i say, at least equal to that of FC.

Is it possible to download the fabchannel concerts? There's a really good John Cale concert I would hate to never see again.

google "record flash video" if you need the video, otherwise get the audio only by using a tool like "no23 recorder", or better yet record the audio stream in an audio editing app (soundforge, peak, audition, etc).

This site has some great concerts - but if you dont speak dutch its a little hard to navigate. a friend told me about it so i could hear white lies playing the paradiso show he was at.
