I will be in
Reykjavik 5/18-5/20
London 5/21-5/22, 5/26-5/28
Paris 5/23-5/25
Covers a lot of ground, but other than shows (though I'd like your suggestions there too), where else should someone like me go on his first visit to each city?

If you are still in London on the night of May 22, I very highly suggest that you see The Voices (http://www.myspace.com/thevoiceslostinconfusion) at the London Social. If I were fortunate enough to be in London that night, I would definitely be at that show. If you talk with them, tell them I sent you. ;)

Musee' D'Orsay, though I'm sure that's already on your list.
Have fun, wish I was going.

I'm sure there's some buildings over there with paintings in them that you can go look at.

While in Reykjavik, go to Hertz and rent a car and buy the audio tour for the Golden Circle. IT takes about 4-6 hours, but it is a great drive through the country. Youll see some freat waterfalls, geysirs, lakes, horses, killer sheep, and more.
At night, be sure to check out Kaffibarinn (http://www.worldsbestbars.com/city/reykjavik/kaffibarinn-reykjavik.htm) , people might tell you the Damon Albarn, but last time I was there I was told that was just a rumor that was spread to get people in the door. Still a cool place though.
Also check out Sirkus. Great bar, but get there early as the line goes down the block to get in past 2am.
For a good meal try Vegamot. Also has a good nightlife.
For shows, try Nasa, Gaukurinn, Grand Rokk.
Are you staying in Reykjavik? or by the airport? There is a 45 minute bus ride from the airport to the city. Get the bus right outside of baggage claim.
Another cool thing to do is to go to the Blue Lagoon (large hot spring) at night. Some nights you can see the Northerrn Lights, but we weren't so lucky.
Iceland is fun, but expensive...Bring a Visa or Mastercard, NOWHERE took AMEX.

if i were you, i would check out richard ashcroft on the 21st in london at brixton academy.

tickets are actually available for that nite.

well, other than the obvious "there's no way you can see much of anything in 2 1/2 days," you should just hit the big tourist spots- in paris, louvre (which will take at least 1/2 a day), d'orsay, notre dame, eiffel tower (don't eat at the restaurant), and so forth. the rodin museum is also very nice. one of my favorite ice cream spots is in paris- berthillion, on ile st. louis.

I meant to say that there is a rumor that Damon Albarn owns Kaffibarinn, but apparently that is just a rumor.

Funny - Smackette and I will be in London 5/23-5/25. It's like you're avoiding me.
Anyhow, it's going to be tough to plan any trip to Europe around the World Cup, so plan accordingly.
