Who's gonna be there on Thursday?
-
I'm planning on it. I'm psyched to see the Apes; I haven't caught them with their new singer yet.
Does anyone other than Econo remember seeing Liars open Ape shows in the Backroom? Man, they were practically the houseband for a few months.
-
Unfortunately I'll be in Ames, Iowa for work. Would love to make this show.
NKOTB -- I don't think anyone remembers:(
-
this sounds like it may be worth coming out of my hibernation for...
-
The Philly show on 5/17 has been canceled according to the band's website, but it says the DC show is currently still on as planned.
-
i remember those days. i'll be there on thursday...can't wait to see the apes with their new new singer.

Apes used to wipe the floor with Liars. Now it's Liars who are the big band. Never made sense to me. It was always a downer seeing Liars open. Liars are a solid band, but in their early DC gigs, they SUCKED.

Is this a new one since the DMBQ show?
-
Think I'm gonna pass on this one and wait for the Sonar show. Love the club stage.
-
yes, kurosawa...joe is out and breck is in. he's gonna be way better...eric and amanda are much more excited about him than joe.

The born again Christian girl who interned in our office was from Ames, Iowa. Sounded like a thrill a minute. She couldn't take like here and had to move back to the Midwest. I think she's in Nebraska now.

My age it means less

Is called the Midwest
I's taught and brought up there

Dang that's a great song.

Can someone ballpark what time the Liars will be starting?
-
I'll bet Liars start at around 10:30 or so.
The stars aligned and I think I'm going to go.
-
I couldn't make it out. How was the show?
I'll probably go see them at Sonar.
-
It's the first time I've seen them, so this doesn't count as a fan's opinion, but the music was kinda interesting but overall a bore. Way too much droning spacey stuff. They had a couple of moments, but not many.
-
I totally agree with the good Dr.
A couple moments of coolness, but overall not that great. I left near the end.
Apes, however, were great! The new singer is like a cross between Pharrell Williams and Urkel. Great voice and a groovy frontman. I was impressed and can see them doing well. I told the drummer they should go to England -- they'd go down a storm there.
