been getting into poetry of late.  any recommendations?

Wallace Stevens, Ginsberg, Elizabeth Bishop, Dylan Thomas.  I love poetry, I could go on.

Good list; I've been reading Ginsberg, Bukowski, and Ondaatje; any other suggestions?

I'm a big fan of the English Romantics, like William Blake.  Occasionally I'm pleasantly surprised, but most contemporary free-verse poetry I've come across is lazy, pretentious crap.

Howl - Allen Ginsburg
 
 I have to admit I was skeptical and believed it to be overhyped until I actually read it. I surprised myself and really liked it.
