I created my own simpsons character last night when I found out a friend of mine got an extra ticket:
<img src="http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c217/purplesuitjoker/MarvinSimpson.jpg" alt=" - " />
But tonight I think I'm going to watch a bootlegged copy of Transformers OR go see Harry Potter. You? Poor saps?
-
Lobbing grenades...
-
I'm getting my hair cut, then Metro-ing to the burbs, stopping by a box store and grabbing the new Spoon album, grabbing some take home pizza, chilling with my babes, watching the All-Star game and the Shaq weight loss show.
-
While everyone's away, trying to change the name of the club to:
The Fillmore AT the Nightclub 9:30.
I don't think anyone will notice.

No plans. I'm not a fan so I'm not missing anything. Maybe I'll finally finish reading my cousin's book on epistemology in science.
-
I am going to see the Pumpkins
-
I think I'll watch Brazil vs. Uruguay for the Copa America semifinal (it's at 8:30)
-
im going to see absinthe. See a video (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=9069481818174295316) here.

I've just been invited to the All-Star game. Should I go?
-
Most likely working on another poster and occasionaly placing my hand on my wife's belly to feel the kid kicking around.
-
Are you kidding? Who invited you??

No, I'm serious for once today. I've been to two (Anaheim '89 and Piitsburgh '94) and they kind of suck (they take forever and it's played at exhibition pace, which is difficult to watch at times). Maybe I should let somebody go who hasn't been.
-
i am going to be seeing a band i like a lot more than the smashing pumpkins.
-
tickets are on sale again act quick!

i was at this. i think it was the last entertaining all-star game. 9th inning game-tying home run by fred mcgriff and then tony gwynn scoring from first base on a double by moises alou in the 10th. also, i got a foul ball.
-
...and they are gone. congrats to who ever!
-
i worked at the pittsburgh airport then and i saw every single allstar get mobbed by autograph seekers. it was awesome
anyway, my plan is to go to the gym if i dont have an asthma attack just walking outside, run, go home, drink a shitload of water and eat some dinner. i think pirate master is on tonight too
-
I'll be going to our new house that we go to closing on at the end of the month to measure for furniture, then I might have a fashion parade at home to see which would be the most appropiate t-shirt to wear for Morrissey on Saturday.
-
Based on the Smashing Pumpkins thread, the more All Star games you've been to, the more worthy of the tickets you are. Why let a newbie have any fun? Think of yourself for once, man.

Well, a pending lawsuit by the ADF has ruined my chances of going to the game tonight so I'm "letting" someone else go to the game. Such a good guy I am...
-
Go American League, I will watch the game. Probably stating the obvious, rather be at the show.

I was referring to this fine organization:

I'll most likely be packing boxes and bags and my car. Then looking at my car and feeling like hunting down the motherfucker that caused my accident yesterday and wanting to punch him.
Then will probably go to my BF's and watch some movies.
-
Packing boxes and watching the All Star Game on tv.
I would go just to go to a game at that stadium! Definitely on my must-see list for baseball games.
-
i'm drawing a still life :)
-
watching "hannah and her sisters"
-
thinking about the time I saw Zwan...
-
Mankie, do you have one of these? It might go over well ;)

I was signing the lease to a new apartment, and starting to move some things in.
-
A buddy of mine and I saw Transformers and then snuck into Die Hard. That was some sensory overload, for sure.

Well, I have a vintage Smiths t-shirt but that's too obvious, and I have a Manchester United team jersey and t-shirt and also a Roy Keane t-shirt...the Roy Keane one would be more for the in-in-crowd, you'd have to either be a manc or a English footie fan big time to make that connection. I'll probably end up wearing a summer casual button-up shirt though, because the last time I wore something manc at a Morrissey show I was innundated with questions about "are you from Manchester? KEWL!" It's great if you're trying to score with a chicky-babe because it's a good ice-breaker, then the accent pretty much does the rest, but now I'm married and faithful as a labrador it's kind of annoying. If I see anyone with a New York Dolls t-shirt at the show I'll buy them a beer because that's a real in-in-in-crowd connection.
Oh, I'm happy to report our new sofa will fit perfectly in our new house. We got a great deal on it too, so the wife's happy, and I'm happy I don't have to get dragged around furniture stores anymore - those people are more annoying than car sales people aren't they? My Tuesday evening was much more productive than a Billy Corgan with a punkins cover band gig.

nope, jewish, and "Hannah" is a Woody Allen movie that i had missed for whatever reason (I believe the 11th commandment is to see at least half of Woody's films and be able to quote liberally from them)
Michael Caine was really fantastic in it, as was Dianne Wiest ... but the constant voice-overs kind of got on my nerves after a while
was there a gay theme that i missed?

Read this. Great q&a thread. Steve Albini only comes off like an ass when stupid questions are asked.
Best q&a of the thread was:
Q: Vinyl or Digital?
A: Vagina. You find them on women.

agreed, i could barely focus on the game when i was there

Steve is not a fan of Urge Overkill. :)
I liked:
Q: 1) Beatles or Stones?
A: Stooges.
Q: Do you think bands that are severely derivative, like most garage rock bands, are inferior to bands like Jesus Lizard who sound totally unique?
A: Yes. In other news, I think Ice is cold, fire is hot and the sun will probably come up tomorrow.
:D
