Does anyone know of any decent websites where I can buy GOOD music at fair to average prices?
-
www.newburycomics.com (http://www.newburycomics.com) has most new releases, often pretty cheap
or www.insound.com (http://www.insound.com) has virtually all indie releases, but not quite as cheap...
I forget the cheap import site...

i'm being predictable but...
but depending on your definition of GOOD music, the cheapest way to go is emusic.com... the cost per track is about a third of what the itunes store costs. plus you get drm less high quality mp3s.
if you are looking for mainstream major label songs, than emusic is not for you. if you are looking for indie stuff, like YepRoc, Epiteth, 4AD, Beggars Banquet, Parasol, Kill Rock Stars, etc.. then emusic is way to go... PM and I can hook you with some free trial tracks.

You'll have provide examples of bands you consider to be good. The easiest option is to purchase music from the band's website.
Beyond that, try CDwow.com (http://www4.cd-wow.com/), CDBaby.com (http://www.cdbaby.com/) and SecondSpin.com (http://www.secondspin.com/).

its the us site you want to order from, not the uk site, and it is not cheap anymore, so I would not order at all from it

I agree with this advice, or trade in bad music you previously owned to somewhere like cd exchange or your favorite place that buys cds and have them order what you want with your trade in credit.
