I was browsing the upcoming shows at 9:30 and saw on March 20th Ray Davies is playing. Anyone going? I was also wondering if anyone had seen some of his more recent shows; does he play old Kinks songs or just newer ones of his own, or some of both?
Thanks a lot in advance :)

I am going after I have reading several reviews from shows that he did in the U.K. last fall, that said he still rocks, has a great three piece band backing him and he plays a bunch of Kinks songs. There was going to be a Kinks reunion tour (Ray and Dave kissed and made-up), but Dave had a heart attack and it was scrapped it.

Hopefully,Dave will be back after being on the mend and if so, we will get another Kinks tour. There was mention of it by Pete Townsend when Ray inducted him into the British Hall Of Fame earlier this year. It's a shame they don't acually have a builing for their HOF as of yet.

Some good reading here. Got my ticket today. Hurray!

This is interesting, because I saw the Kinks at the Bayou some time ago, and they totally sucked. They came on late, they acted like playing their songs was a tiresome bother, and they even blended some of their best known songs into one truncated medley. Maybe Ray has re-energized.
