i noticed a kid crowd surfing and the bouncer pulled him down and said there was no surfing tonight. why was that?
-
I wasn't here last night, but I'm guessing that it was at the bands request.

I bet there is no surfing on all shows at the 930 Club because of liability issues (they don't want to be responsible if people get hurt as a result of a kid surfing). You know how Americans like to sue? That's the reason.

In California, that kid would have gotten a refund.

hahaha. ggw is funny.
i cant stop laughing in fact.
there is crowd surfing allowed at 930 sometimes right? its kinda 90's though isnt it? cant we all just be vertical???
-
yeah like the last concert i went to there was just last month and there were many surfers and it was 100 percent allowed. im intrested in hearing the reason why also.

because what's-his-fuck can't get over the fact that blink one eighty two is gone forever, and crowd surfing brings a faint glint of a tear to his eye. and the fact that he thanks his agent everday that he didn't do something retarted like that show on mtv, the drummer did.
no surf for you.
-
i did not go last night but my guess is since it was a sold out show there was a barrier between the stage and the crowd, which is why there was no crowd surfing allowed. at all the crowded shows i have been to there have been barriers up and if it were not for the bouncers all the crowd surfers would fall on the floor or on the barrier which would lead to a lot of injuries.
maybe you should post this question in the faq section for a definite answer though.

the band requested that our barricade crew stay away from the middle of the stagefront. we had to come in from the sides to catch anyone that surfed. for safety reasons, we decided that we would tell people not to surf again in an attempt to limit the number of times we had to move in. it worked.
crowd surfing is allowed unless the band requests otherwise, for now. i've been trying for years to get that policy changed, but it hasn't happened yet. even when it is allowed, we reserve the right to tell any or all patrons that they are not allowed to surf, and surfing at inappropriate times or in an unsafe manner may result in removal from the main floor or ejection from the club.

It's not a band. It's a corporation.

But how would we ever have met if that policy existed?

Actually, that was quite funny. It's the 1% (in this case 10%) of truth that makes every joke funny.
