When the next New Order album drops in March, think they'll tour the US at all?
New Order at 9:30 would be amazing.

i'm not too into new order, but when discussing a particular show where the scalped ticket costs got to be VERY expensive, i stated that the only way i'd pay like $1000 for a show is if they were to raise ian curtis from the dead and have joy division play a show one night only and never again.

Highly doubt it as Barney and the band hate to tour. Also, there are some serious family issues with a couple of them which keeps them at home. Maybe they will do a show, possibly a festival, just for promotion but you can damn sight bet it won't be any closer to DC than NYC.

I thought his name was Bernard. How do you get "Barney" from that?

can you say Coachella 2005..........

I've heard you have a freaky goatee. And all guys with freaky goatees are either named Abdul, Rasheed, or Timmy. From there, it was just a guess.

Bags is from my last name...which starts with BAG. Not too crazy, really..... Makes up for the fact that there aren't really nicknames for Nancy. One friend does like Nanners, though. :D
Actually, did you know that Nancy is dreived from a for Anne?

Look for Peter Hook to be doing a DJ set at the Ottobar in January...

Holy crap, New Order at Coachella would be AMAZING. Get Ready was such an underrated LP, and their DVD live at Finsbury Park shows that after 20-something years they FINALLY became a killer live band. I'd love to see them if they came around.

Celeste from Gretchen
Fico from Francisco...and it's pronounced Fee-co, :) and it is common to call Fico people with the name Francisco or Federico

I haven't had anyone call me Randy since I was like 19, but if you want to do so, be my guest.
"Celeste" is from the Old 97's song "Time Bomb".

I gave up on New Order in the late 80's, but I agree that "Get Ready" was a really good record. If they can pull-off that sound live, I'd jump at the chance to see them again.

I highly recommend that you check out the Live at Finsbury Park CD. It captures a sound and energy that goes back to the days of Joy Division. Their version of "Transmission" is outstanding, so are is "Close Range" and "Regret". It closes with "Your Silent Face" and the sound is superb. Not sure they touched it up for release, but hey, it's some of the best live New Order money can buy.

You got me but though his given name is Bernard, he goes by Barney. It's pretty well known amongst their fans, especially the English fans. Actually, Barney is a common nickname for the name Bernard along with Bernie. When you think about it, they sound very similar. And as far as I know, Germany is the only country that has instituted a law requiring one to be given a government approved name.

what kinda family issues keep em at home?

I've never seen them live personally, but have been told by numerous folk who have, that they are quite disapointing live.

Depends on how wasted they get before the show. When I saw them on their very 1st US tour, they sucked really bad. One of the worst shows I've ever seen to date. I've heard other accounts of them putting on very bad shows due to drunkeness and/or drugs. Then again, I've also heard that they put on some great shows too.
Guess you can put them in the Brian Jonestown Massacre category of hoping they stay away from the intoxicants if you want what they have the capability of producing or you may as well just stay home and get wasted yourself.

Steven and Gillian (husband and wife) have a handicapped or very sick child. Don't know the details nor the illness but I know that things sort of took a turn for the worse around when Get Ready was released which kept Gillian at home when they did hit the road for the few shows that they did perform.
