Title: Elephant
Post by: paige on November 09, 2003, 07:14:00 pm
... no not another White Stripes thread. The other Elephant.

 All I can say is...

 Wow.

Gus Van Sant is a feckin' genius; I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but I was most definitely blown away. It was pared down, no frills, poetry. I highly recommend that anyone see it.

Was that the one with the multiplying drum kits?

I also saw one recently, not TWS, that looked like TRON??

Actually she is talking about the feature film that was just released depicting a day in the life of several high school students and the resulting violence at their school. I really want to see it.

That sounds like a must-see for a certain poster I read on the 930 forum who shall remain nameless.

you should. right now. drop what you're doing and see it.

i read an interview with one of the actors and he remarked that "anyone who doesn't like this movie is a person that does not want to think." that makes a lot of sense because van sant doesn't tell the audience but rather shows them. good times.

How is the Avalon theatre? I still haven't been there yet. I really do want to see the movie. It certainly caused a lot of controversy at Cannes.
