Is anyone else planning to go to this show? If so, does anyone know why cameras are not allowed this time around? I know the 9:30 Club doesn't have a blanket no-camera policy like some other venues (e.g. Birchmere), so I'm guessing this decision was made by the band. Metric usually allows cameras w/o flash, so I'm a little confused by the policy. It's just depressing to know I won't have anything to remember the show by. (Other than memories, of course.) I'm also annoyed that they scheduled a Pogues show so close to the Metric show because it threatens my meet-Emily-Haines time, but I won't go into that.

well i'm definitely headed to the show, since i missed it last time around.  I never even heard of the no cameras policy. eeek.

I asked about cameras in the FAQ and mod said there would be no cameras allowed this time around. Last time they were here, there was a "No Cameras Allowed" sign, but they guy told me I could use mine as long as I didn't use the flash. It's really disappointing that I can't have one this time, especially since camera phone pictures are pretty much worth nothing. I got a few videos on my phone last time, but all you can hear is speaker fuzz. Ah well, at least the band gives a memorable show.

Saw the Metric show at the 9:30 Club last year and it was fun, but I didn't really have the urge to see them again. Then, someone here posted that Islands (ex-Unicorns) were opening, and I'm now considering it. The few Islands songs I've downloaded have been really good. As far as I know, the 9:30 Club hasn't updated their listings yet, so I'm waiting until I get some official confirmation that Islands will be performing before I buy any tickets.

If I go, it will be to see Islands. Darth Ed, I've seen confirmation of Islands opening on at least two web sites.

I'm pretty sure Islands and Men, Women, & Children will both be opening at the DC show.

I saw them in the fall, as well.

Don't worry about the lack of cameras. Emily Haines is so freaking skinny that she'll disappear if she turns even slightly to the side. Ick - not sure how that anorexic look came back into favour.....  :p

I was watching that for a while, but didn't have the money to bid.

Her new solo album is due September 26, if anyone is interested.

I couldn't say for sure, but I doubt it. The tickets have been on sale since November or December.
