I know some of you are working the release, but is anyone going to it for the book?  I think I am, but I've said that before...

I'm considering going for the book.  I finally sat down and read the series a couple weeks after the release of the sixth book, so this is the first time I've been excited about one of them coming out.  And since it's the last one, this is also the only chance I'll ever have to see some of the insanity of release night.

Want to hear a rather pathetic thought that's occured to me?  With my hair the way it is right now, I could probably make a decent Snape (a la Alan Rickman, at least).  But I don't think there's any chance in hell of me actually doing it. >_>

I'm going for the book.  A large part of me is hoping Harry dies.
Has anyone seen the movie yet?

I saw the movie on Wednesday at the Senator in B'more (a really great place to see it) and thought it was really good.  The 5th book is my favorite, and I thought they did a good job of cutting out the crap.  Harry is lookin' a little old now though, so I hope they film the other ones soon.

I saw it Wednesday, don't know why. 3rd and 4th are the best movies, this one was borederline boring if it wasnt for some parts.

I sincerely hope Harry dies in the 7th book. Voldemort can't keep losing.

I'm hoping they finally get it on, replace the current Hemione with Lindsay Lohan and go for an R rating with the last movie.

My bet is that Snape dies to save Harry.

Did anyone else listen to Diane Rehm this morning?

I don't understand what you all mean by "working". Are some of you in the industry or promotions? Or is there some free help Harry Potter fan club being had?

my definition of working is that i'm a newspaper reporter... so i actually have a fun assignment -talking to the kiddies and the (sometimes) creepy adults who get way too into it as they wait for the book at the bookstore parties.

The woman is a genius.  Yes, I did read the book all night.  I think I was in tears for most of it, haha.

For those interested there's already a summary of the book on Wikipedia. I read it last night.

Thank you for this.  I was just in an elevator where about 4 middle aged women were talking about the lengths they went through to get the book this weekend (one of them had it in their hands).  They asked me if I was a fan..

"No, I just read the summary on wikipedia so if somebody really makes me mad, I'll ruin the ending for them."

Silence ensued as we rode the elevator for 15 more floors.  Somehow, I kept a straight face throughout.   I am going to milk that for a few weeks.

i always hear people and media bitching about how hard it is to get the books when they come out. i was in silver spring the night of and it was bedlam just with people in line for pre-orders so i went home. slept in on saturday and then picked one up at target... they had plenty.

p.s. the last chapter was just awful. embarassing to read even.
