does it have to be something that came out this year?

or just something that I HAVE bought this year?

or can it be something that I've yet to purchase?

Cramps-Fiends of Dope Island, and I would've been dissapointed. Was really looking forward to this one and it's got a few great songs but a lot of filler. Not only that but Candy del Mar is  no longer with the band. (sigh)

If you're talking the last twelve months, y'all are not going to believe it (or maybe you will, or maybe you don't give a shit), but the Foo Fighters One by One.  I listen to it every day.

Second choice, hmmm, Idlewild?  Because it opened up the whole band to me.

Buy anything by the Vines, Hives or Strokes and you've basically got all three!

Then I'd say the Pernice Brothers, but we'll see if the new Beulah or Shins will change that once i have it.

good question.....

Probably Massive Attacks 100 broken windows. Their previous albums were a soundtrack to my life. This was a huge disappointment.

Although the new Joe Strummer album comes out next month.

Hmmm....

 Natural History- "Beat Beat Heartbeat"

 or

 Thermals- "More Parts Per Million"

 I'll pick:

 Sonny Fortune- "Great Friends"

based on anticipation, I would say

Earthquake Glue - Guided by Voices
 or
Down the River of Golden Dreams - Okkervil River

if I had to choose one album

probably Postal Service, which surprises me

Ouch...probably either Black Eyes or Out Hud's debuts.  But, honestly, Hail To The Theif is pretty high up there for me, too.

close second would be The Pernice Bros." yours, mine, and ours" and Eels "Shootenany"

*** i am eagerly awaiting purchasing Spiritualized's new LP "Amazing grace" which i noticed the other day is in stores. And hopefully they tour the states, preferably DC.

You are a little behind in your news, aren't you? It's old news and here on this board somewhere but Spiritualized will be touring NA but, unfortunately, their management decided to skip the Baltimore/DC market this time around. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Let me think a bit about that one. Not in the immediate area. Or any that you'd want to stay in! Stay off of Rt. 40!!! Unless you're looking for hookers. You'll probably want to check out the Days Inn, the Holiday Inn or the Comfort Inn in Towson by the 695 Baltimore Beltway and York Rd. They should be reasonable, in a decent area and accessible to your route of travel. And should only be about a 15-20 minute drive back from the venue.

 -Edit-
Shit! They aren't on York Rd., they are on Loch Raven Blvd.. And depending on their exact address, they may be listed as Cromwell Bridge Rd..

Picked up the Rainbow Quartz sampler at Siren Fest in July...it's a pretty stellar roster.  But I especially like the High Dials and the Singles.

Yes, there are....but they would be in the opposite direction of where he'd being going and probably a bit pricier.

If you want, I can make some calls for you on availability and cost. Would save you the long distance charges. (And I use to be a travel agent so I know some of the tricks of the trade....not that it's that difficult.)

A second best choice would be any of the hotels further up (north) York Rd. in Timonium or Hunt Valley (which is near where I live). They would be listed as being accessible to I83/the Jones Falls Expressway. They would be a little further off your route and up York Rd. but a back up if the Towson ones are booked up. Then there's the Sheraton in downtown Towson but that would be too expensive, I'm sure.

disturbingly enough, there are more than a couple of freshman this year who fit that description...I've been trying to influence them with my senior guy charms that Neko Case is a much better example to follow.  i'm sure they have no clue who she is.  which reminds me of an interesting question...how old were you all when you quit listening to embarrassing music?  (Rhett and Mankie are exempt for obvious reasons).

That's OK,thanks though.I have some friends in B/more I can stay with.I was just considering somewhere within walking distance for partying.I'll try and check with Anton and see where the band is staying.I figure they got something somewhat close by.However, all reccommendations are appreciated.
