FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: November 28, 2005, Chicago, IL ----- The Second City is proud to announce the fourth annual benefit event: "The Second City That Never Sleeps: Letters To Santa" - 24-hours of improvisation by Second City performers and featuring special guests - to provide holiday presents for needy children beginning at 10:30pm on Tuesday, December 6 - Wednesday, December 7, 2005, in The Second City e.t.c. (1608 North Wells in Piper's Alley). Tickets are $10.00 and can be purchased at the door.
Improvisers scheduled to appear for the full 24-hours are Ryan Archibald, Joe Canale, Andy Cobb, Shelly Gossman, TJ Jagodowski, Pat O'Brien, Rebecca Sohn and Rich Sohn.
Listed below is a schedule of special guests scheduled to appear:
11:30pm Jeff Tweedy (of Wilco)
2:30am Tim Kinsella (Cap'n Jazz, Joan of Arc, The Owls)
8:00am Tim Midgett (formerly of Silkworm)
11:00am Maureen Herman (formerly of Babes in Toyland)
2:00pm Tania Bower (Via Tania)
4:00pm Jason Molina (Songs: "Ohia," "Magnolia Electric Co")
6:00pm The Blisters (grade-school rock band)
8:30pm Robbie Fulks & Steve Albini
In addition to raffle prizes offered during the event, there will also be an auction to win a private performance with Jeff Tweedy. The concert will take place in the lucky winner's home for the winner and 29 of their friends.
The admission price of $10.00 will guarantee you entry to the event for
