that's what I'm getting at.

They could at least have gotten somebody with some vocal range for cryin out loud

repost from just announced thread
From what I've heard Paul doesn't sing lead on all songs, as Roger Taylor is no slouch on vocals. He and Brian were after all providing harmonies behind Freddie. While I doubt it's going to sellout, it will attract those people wanting to hear BR live, (which even when Freddie was around, they used a video for the parts of in concert) and to hear Queen's "biggest" hit "We Will Rock You", heard of course at fine sporting events everywhere. The thought of a crowd wanting to hear WWRY live, makes my skin crawl...
I believe Paul handles the lead vocals on the early harder rockin' stuff
And remember while Freddie was the front man, the rest of the band were the creative force. Roger Taylor wrote and sang lead on some of the songs. Deacon was responsible for coming up with the bassline to "Another One Bites The Dust"...

And Brian May is no slouch on the Axe. A harmonic genius in my opinion.
But that beng said, the dude from the Scissor Sisters should be singing lead for Freddie.

goerge michael did a good job with queen's memorial concert for freddie. i was impressed. he oughta be the one. doesnt seem he's busy these days, on the charts that is -- at the lady byrd johnson island marina bathrooms on gw pkwy is a different story.

Actually, thinking of the kind of fans that would go to a concert just to yell "woo" to "We Will Rock You," the choice of Bad Company's frontman starts to make sense, if that's the audience they're going for.
-
I heard Paul singing "We Are The Champions" on Comcast the other day. HORRIBLE. George Michael would have been a great choice.
-
I'd heard rumblings that it might've been Robbie Williams. He could've pulled it off.

that strikes me as similar to judas priest hiring a halford impersonator... :)
I'd go w/ George Michael.
-
I'm increasingly convinced that the "We Will Rock You" factor explains his choice. To the overwhelming majority of the pooplic, that is *the* Queen song.
-
you'd need elton john for continuity.
-
This will be an interesting show. I think they should have gone w/someone unheard of.

What's a "muscle girl?"
There's a huge one-page ad in the City Pap billing Queen as "return of the champions." So yeah, my prediction that the audience will be filled with morons who came to hear that one song.
I also predict that Queen will wait until the end to play it, and they'll do a couple of encores first to whip people into a frenzy. And then they'll play the first notes, everyone will go "woo," and they'll launch into the song which will be extended for about 20 minutes of sing-along.

As a lifelong Queen fan, and one who won't be going to see queen + paul out of respect for freddie, Annie Lennox is the only person I can think of who could do freddie's vocals justice.
-
$128 $88 and $68 for tickets...they'd better be digging Freddie up for that price.
-
I'm one Queen fan 1) who is quite annoyed by "We Are the Champions," 2) who recognizes they could have made a better vocalist choice, 3) who recognizes going to this only encourages tour concepts that are more bizarre, yet I'll still be going to have some fun with family.
It'll also be my first time at MCI. What's it like for a show? For a sporting event, for that matter, too?

I'm not telling you because I don't think you should go!
-
I will!
Let's just say it's a great hockey arena and leave it at that.

What happen is that after a hard day of motorcar racing and a few to many pints in the pub afterwards, someone in Queen lost a wager...
