I bet you any money it will be way better than "In Rainbows" (http://www.nme.com/news/the-raconteurs/35250)
Plus, don't you just know that "in Japan, fans will be able to download the record via their mobile phones, as that is how a majority of recorded music is consumed there" bothers Jack White to no end. If he had his way, it would only be released on vinyl. Not on those newfangled CA-SETTES. The way Blind Lemon Jefferson intended.

lets hope its better than the last and not just a bunch of demos with an added single...

Jack White sucks his own dick.

You know Charlie, you really need to figure out how the teenage metalhead neighbor got a hold of your forum id and pw. This is exactly like many of the comments that were on posted on Youtube after Roadrunner Records uploaded a De Novo Dahl video there.

Sorry, I thought I was talking the language of a typical Jack White fan.

Hey, so does the singer of Nickleback! (http://www.chartattack.com/damn/2008/03/1130.cfm)
I can't improve on the headline "Chad Kroeger Sucked Himself Off For Beer."

i like plenty of new music, it's just the first Raconteurs album was a real let down... possibly because i was really looking forward to it's release.
it should have been a great blending of the influences of Led Zep (White) and the Beatles (Benson), but as the Post's J Freedom Du Lac pointed out at the time it sounded a lot like Bad Company...
my biggest fear is that the Racontuers will become little more than Jack White with a bunch of dudes backing him up... Hopefully Jack and Brendon have learned to write actual songs together...
of course Brendon has all that mad money rolling in from the iTouch commercial, maybe he's content with being a sideman...

really? assuming you can come up with a form of judgement i can agree to (metacritic?), i'll gladly take your money. $100? put your money where your mouth is, brian! and no, your personal judgement isn't admissable. you've already decided it's "going to be better", so no bet there.

Sweet! Their first album could have been more than than 10 effing songs, but I was still incredibly addicted to it. On top of that Jack and Brendan put on an amazing show. Whatever festival I go to this summer I hope they're there again.

brendan benson is one of my favorite artists (i hate using the word "artist" when talking about pop/rock people, but i can't think of a better word here) and i like the White Stripes just fine
that said, the raconteurs album was so disappointing on so many levels ... they could have melded two fantastic styles but instead they put together a bunch of washed-out, boring tunes around one pretty catchy one
i'm really hoping they step it up a notch with this one, but i'm not holding out any hopes
more importantly, when is brendan going to release a follow-up to "the alternative to love"??

The follow up is much better than the first album. It's still Jack White's band, so Kosmo will likely be a little disappointed, but the sound is a lot "fuller" than Broken Boy Soldiers. Plenty of horns, organs, fiddles, and lots of guitar. They still have that '60s-'70s sound, but it's not so easy to pigeonhole. A couple of songs come off like Blind Faith; the keyboards hit some Deep Purple notes; the fiddles add a touch of country, etc... They may still be aping some classic rock bands, but they are better bands than Bad Company.
