can't wait for the show this saturday (at the black cat)...i love it when good shows are on the weekend, heh. anyone from the forum going?
(they are sort of like a gypsy-pogues, if anyone hasn't heard them before)
(and skeleton key tomorrow at the ottobar...woohoo)

they seem to be at the black cat every few months. is it more camp that actual musicianship? i read somewhere that they dress up in costume and dance around? accurate?

All right. I Googled 'Bordello'. Now what?
-
I shall be there - my SO is more a fan than I am but I'm sure live promises to be interesting!

they only have 2 girls that dress up in costume and have costume changes....come out beating big drums on some songs, other songs they play washboards, and sometimes they just dance (or fall on the ground)
i liked them better when they had Ori playing sax (also played sax for Firewater). I guess he quit the band to do something else and now they have a bass player instead...not the same. The violin and accordian players are really good.

it's the kind of hard aggressive punk rock that they played back in the shtetl two hundred years ago. bring ear plugs or it will be the last show you can hear. not my kind of music but oddly enjoyable...
