Ambulance Ltd announce their first headlining dates in 2 years
(Their last official show was December 31st 2005!)
As Marcus Congleton (founder, lead singer, guitarist and songwriter of Ambulance Ltd) said:
??Ambulance Ltd has suffered some unwelcome reality doses in the past couple of years. Many songs have been written and recorded but legal battles, interpersonal dramas, and spiritual meltdowns have stilted our sophomore effort. If there's ever a ??VH1: Behind The Music that's really good but not massively popular? I think our saga would be perfect. But the good news is we're back with a bag of new songs and a damn good record is beginning to take shape. I am delighted to be returning to the Stage.?
04/02/08 Middle East Downstairs Cambridge, Massachusetts
04/04/08 Maxwell's Hoboken, New Jersey
04/05/08 North Star Bar Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
04/06/08 Club Cafe Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
04/07/08 Rock and Roll Hotel Washington, D.C.
04/11/08 Mercury Lounge New York City, NY
Wild Light & Bear Hands are the main support bands for this run.
Their current label TVT Records have just filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, owing the band a lot of money and leaving the release of the bands second album in limbo. The band have chosen to take their new songs to their fans via the road.
Ambulance Ltd is; Marcus Congleton; Ezra Oklan (drums); Ian Fenger (guitar); Xander McMahon (keyboards) and Jeremy Kay (bass).
Over the past eighteen months, Marcus lived in LA for 9 months, wrote and recorded songs with John Cale, Rick Parker and Mike Daly; wrote music for a DKNY ad campaign and had songs featured on NASCAR and Sprint TV commercials and many TV shows.

So would have taken you 30 seconds extra to post this in the other Ambulance LTD thread in the forum instead of starting a new thread?
Word of warning, I'm going to start deleting extraneous posts about shows you are street teaming on this site. Also, you really ought to be started to posting in a single thread from this point forward, as I see no reason to clutter up Just Announced and the forum in general with this street teaming.
It also really crosses the line when you post lineup times...
Tis a funny thing that when I was at RNR Hotel for the Dirtbombs, consider me underwhelmed about the venue, I didn't see any flyers out promoting shows at the 9:30 club.

Hmmm, Kosmo, you're getting a bit crotchety in your old age. Trashing this street-teamer is one thing, but we talk about a million venues on this board, including NYC and SF shows from time to time. I know this is the 9:30 Board, but it has always been about more than 9:30 shows. That's all I'm saying...

but it's actually beyond street teaming at this point... from what i gather it's flat out promotion by the venue here... seeing as whats posted here is exactly whats sent out in their emails plus the inclusion of actual set times...
the 9:30 forum can be seen as a hub for the discussion of music, films, sports, politics, etc thats related to the club, local interests and beyond.
however, IMHO the promotion of Rock and Roll Hotel shows has gone overboard... And I don't think it's unreasonable to ask they be contained in their own thread from this point forward.

OK, fair enough. You are forced to pay a lot more attention to this sort of thing than I. And if you think this is the actual club promoting shows on here, what you're suggesting makes sense to me. I stand corrected.

Kosmo, as someone who's done promoting for 10 years, and gets sick of people like this, I salute you for doing something about it. Thanks a lot. :)
