Title: Ten funniest band moments on TV.
Post by: Brian_Wallace on November 09, 2007, 09:09:00 am
NME's Top 10 Funniest Band Moments of TV. (http://www.nme.com/blog/index.php?blog=10&title=friday_afternoon_top_ten_bands_on_tv&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1)

This is FANTASTIC!  If you don't find at least one of these clips amusing, then you're dead.  They have to be funnier than "Spamalot."

Considering this is British TV where's The Stone Roses on "The Late Show" having their power cut and Ian Brown yelling "Amateurs!"?  Or when The Bee Gees were on the Clive Anderson show and he mentions that at one point they were called "Les Tosseurs."  The band laugh and then Clive says "Well, you have always been tossers to me" which causes the band to walk off?

The above list is great.  What a gorgeous version of "Jeane" (why the hell isn't that on ANY of 640 Smiths compilations?) Lily Allen showing off her superfluous nipple.

There's nothing quite like someone British yelling "GET IT OUT!"

 Priceless.

Personally I would have thrown in the Who on the Smothers Brothers comedy hour, or the Ramones on Sha Na Na.

I thought the Ramones on The Simpsons would be there.  "Have The Rolling Stones killed!"

If we're going by appearances the recent SNL skit featuring Kanye West where they spoof him crashing different awards presentations was pretty damn funny.  As far as music performances, nothing will ever touch Fear on SNL 10/31/81 with DC punks raising hell onstage and Ian MacKaye screaming "NEW YORK SUCKS" in the mic.

KISS in full makeup on the Tomorrow show with Tom Snyder around 1981 (available on YouTube) is gold.  Ace Frehley is hilarious and Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley are unintentially hilarious as always.

Sinead O'Connor tearing up a photo of the pope on SNL was pretty funny...

Jimmy Percy running onto the stage on TOTP like a rockstar.....only slipping and falling flat on his arse was a classic.

Five words:  KISS.  Halloween Special.  Paul Lynde.

Yeah, but kinda annoying.  The guy spends most of his time mapping out his path to stardom then pisses on it when he's got it.  There is the heroin I guess.  Oh, and the mental illness.
