so, will i be the oldest person at this show on tuesday?
by the way, if you like lucero, i think you'd like these guys ... their early stuff drew comparisons to billy bragg, the 'mats, the pogues, etc ... their sound is a little more "accessible" and straight-forward punk now that they're on a major label, but they still have a really unique edge

I saw them last weekend and they were absolutely on fire. They mostly played songs from the new album, and I know some of the people there were disappointed they didn't play more from the Axl Rose album. But I think the new album is great -- every song is an anthem -- and the songs sound fantastic on stage.

agreed, it's easily one of my favorites of the year ... they have a pretty incredible career arc, going from church basement favorites to recording with butch vig
they haven't been playing tracks from "axl rose" in a long time, and they're really an entirely different band from that album, i don't think they had any of their current rhythm section during that recording
i'm always surprised that they don't have a bigger following amongst music fans outside the punk scene

I've been a fan ever since Reinventing Axl Rose, and I've probably seen them at least 15-18 times since then...and their shows just keep getting better. I can't wait for this one.
P.S. Definitely get there early enough to see World Inferno Friendship Society...their live show is an experience in itself.

That was a fun show. Against Me! started off a little messed up, but recovered by the second song.
Setlist as I remember it, definitely not in order:
New Wave
Up the Cuts
Cliche Guevara
Walking is Still Honest
Problems
From Her Lips to God's Ears
Pints of Guinness
Reinventing Axl Rose
White People for Peace
Thrash Unreal
Stop
Americans Abroad
Don't Lose Touch
Sink Florida Sink
Ocean

Baby, I'm an Anarchist
Impact
We Laugh at Danger

Shit! I wish I went to the show. I can't believe they played my two favorite old songs during their encoure. I love "baby I'm an anarchist" and "we laugh at danger." of course, the show I can't attend, they play a crazy awesome set list. Well, I'm glad to hear the show was good! how was sage francis and W/IFS?
-
fantastic show, recap manana
-
I love Against Me, though the singer sounds like Meat Loaf sometimes ;)
-
I enjoyed all of the opening bands, even Cobra Skulls who I hadn't seen before. WIFS was loads of fun as usual, but only played for 20 minutes. And Sage Francis is always fun, though I think he kind of creeped out alot of the younger audience members.
