Which is the best "legal" music downloading site?
Cheers.
-
www.emusic.com (http://www.emusic.com) :D as long as your not looking for the latest and greatest major label hits....
i can send you a trial membership of 50 downloads to try it out.

Speaking of which, can anyone recommend some good bit torrent sites? It seems like every time i see something good it'll take 152 hours to download the content.

I'm a bit pissed at Itunes, having discovered how difficult they make it to move music from one computer to another, even if they're both your computer -- and thus perfectly legal. Fuck that. And plus, they charge almost as much as you would have to pay for a CD, even though it costs way less to distribute music that way.

chaz, indietorrents is the best by a mile for music. i think you have to get lucky to get registered, though

the most succesful site is itunes.com

Thank you God's Shoeshine!!!
Which client do you use???

Doctor Doom. I used to feel the same way about itunes. But then a friend of mine sang me a hymn (http://hymn-project.org/) and now all is well.

Thanks for the site although I'm not sure about having any difficulties signing up because I registered and now I'm in.
For chaz, I've been using BitTornado (www.bittornado.com) for a year now and its worked well for me. A lot of people like Azureus but I've never had success installing it (probably for lack of effort).

I second indie torrents. You just have to wait till they clear off older inactive members before you can sign up. There is so much there, it is probably a good thing you can only get 2 a day as a newbie. And oink.me.uk is pretty good too, with no real restrictions.

I was signed up with indie torrents, but had to go inactive because they don't use standard ports for sharing, and I don't have control over the router so I don't have the ability to change those.
