Title: WSC @ Velvet Lounge

Okay, another question about this Sat. night.  Has the WSC ever sold out the Lounge?  We're wondering if we'll be shut out of that show if the White Stripes run as late as 11:30.  We could go by the Lounge when they open at 8:00 and get stamped, couldn't we?

Heh, you're making too many assumptions about the VL opening on time.
 
 I don't know about selling out that tiny space, but even if you had a stamp, that wouldn't guarantee you re-entry.

I saw WSC at the Velvet Lounge a couple months ago. I don't know if the show actually sold out, but is was uncomfortably full in there (especially when you feel the floor moving beneath your feet).
 
 I would get there on the early side and enjoy the cheap cans of beer.

We were at that show as well, so I know how crowded it can get.  Alas, we can't get there early as we'll be at White Stripes.
 
 While I'm wildly into the WSC show, the one thing is that they play a lot, so I know we'll see them again.  But it's making for such a great Saturday night (and will be one of the last of its kind with my favorite concert compadre who's moving to the Vicious City, as I've always called NY).

If I email someone at Velvet Lounge, think they'll be able to tell me anything at all?  And is there an email contact?

 Also, keep in mind, since there aren't any advance ticket sales, I'm not sure anyone will be able to give you a definitive answer. As was mentioned previously, the WSC plays out frequently.

The lead singer is also part of a singer/songwriter showcase at the velvet lounge Friday night.

does anyone know if a guy named matt still bartends there? cause if he does i'm not going.  about a year ago, after the sk show i got really drunk and tried to hit on him.  i asked what he was listening to, and he said he was listening to the queens of the stone age.  i had heard of queens of the stone age but nothing by them but i was so drunk that i couldn't remember what i'd heard.  so i literally said "yeah, qotsa, i've heard they're..." and we just sort of sat there for a few minutes.  it was really embarrassing.
