Title: Good Charlotte and MTV
Post by: markie on November 18, 2003, 02:57:00 pm
MTV Executive Grounds Son For Recommending Good Charlotte
NEW YORKâ??MTV executive Phillip Blanchard, 42, grounded his 15-year-old son Joshua Monday, after the alternative-rock band Good Charlotte failed to sustain its popularity among viewers of the cable music station. "Joshua needs to learn that his choices have consequences," said Blanchard, who took away his teenage son's credit-card privileges for the week. "Maybe next time, Joshua will think twice before over-hyping some pop-punk crap." As additional punishment, Blanchard had Joshua organize the family's extensive video library of Road Rules episodes chronologically.

OK.....I guess your right.  I've watched Jeopardy maybe once or twice like 10 years ago.

Are you trying to say that Good Charlotte doesn't suck?  I can assure you that they do.

My cousin Bobby (by marriage) was friends with those twins when they were little kids.  His mom took them all to see Sheer Madness at the Kennedy Center.  She said those Good Charlotte guys were very nice young boys.

She never said anything about horses or glue though.  Even though she thought they were nice boys, she agrees that Good Charlotte sucks.

What is it about that band that is so fun to bash?

 Things to learn:

Waldorf is their hometown, death to the pixies t shirts are no longer cool. Guys in make up stand a 4 out of 4 chance of looking silly.

Oh yeah...Waldorf.  La Plata is in or next to Waldorf.  It's where that big twister hit a few years back.

That's it, Waldorf.  Do any of you like the fact that they mention their hometown so much?  I like it; it's not like they're from Brooklyn and are playing some Cool Card.

his kid should be shot for likeing good charlotte, males above the age of 11 should not touch a GC album. unless they want to be like GC....posers....

but i thought GC was doing fine on MTV....there album went something platnum i thought....also a big tour and to many shirts in every store....

they should get waldorf tattoos on there forheads so they don't have to say it every 2 minutes, and i hate my daddy who abandoned me shirts. and they could say MADE on the back.....

wow... is there nothing else going on in the world that all you have to do is take cheap shots at a band that is making the best of what they have? i mean lets face it no one gets on here and bashes all the  britpop music that mankie and markie hold so dear. no one  runs their mouths about the nu metal stuff that flawed listens to. it just makes me wonder whats wrong with you people. a band of guys  from a town not to far from you ,make good for themselves and all you can do is criticize them for it?wow are you all that  low in your feeling of self  worth  that you need to pick on people who have made a life for themselves?? dont like them?? dont listen to them, but really your all acting like a bunch of 13 year olds. i swear all of you "old school" club go'ers really need to realize your age and get over yourselves. no one says you need to like every band out there ,but why the need to put them down on an online forum so people have to read your boring and reptitive post. there are alot of bands i dont like, some that you might, but you dont see me posting 50 times a day who i dont like, maybe its because i have a life, or a clue.maybe you should all just take a step back and think befor you write stuff.i almost never come on here anymore because its the same tired old stuff.

i only like some nu metal.....but i prefer real metal and hardcore....

good for gc that they could do that but they are easy to trash.....and no matter were you go people will trash a band that they don't like.

and i haven't heard of half their britpop bands so i dont know what to really say about them or i would.

I bet he paid $65 for his Death to the Pixies t-shirt at a thrift store in NYC.
We saw Def Lepard t-shirts going gor $65 at a thrift store in the village.
Oh wait, the Pixies tshirt was probably $200.

ViolentMoodSwings, while you are relaxing to Good Charlotte, why don't you take this quiz (http://www.buspar.com/focus.htm). It should be quite helpful for you.

If that doesn't work, you may want to try some HRT*.

BTW, you must have found that ignore function because, apparently, you've never read any of Rhett's threads. If you play your cards right, I bet you Dupek would pay good money for knowing how to activate that function.   ;)

 * HRT = hormone replacement therapy.

I posted the original thread, so I am sorry if I annoyed you, but if you look it came from the onion. The thing with the onion is that its not real news, it is a joke.

In case you are not familiar:

 Joke     ( P )  Pronunciation Key  (jk)
   n.
Something said or done to evoke laughter or amusement, especially an amusing story with a punch line.

  A mischievous trick; a prank.

An amusing or ludicrous incident or situation.

  Informal.
Something not to be taken seriously; a triviality: The accident was no joke.

An object of amusement or laughter; a laughingstock: His loud tie was the joke of the office.

Really dude...get over it.  So what if some teeny bobber bands get trashed around here.  It's not like anyone wishes true harm on them.  When an act like Good Charlotte or whoever get's brought up don't expect people around here to pay them lip service.  If I think GC sucks I'll say I think they suck.

The reason these bands bet bashed around here is because the posters here are not into teeny bopper music.  Go to a metal forum and they'll be bashing something else.  Same with country, hip hip etc. or any other community.  Everyone has their likes and dislikes, and given the chance most people will express them.

You bring up a good point though.  If God had access and a fast connection, would He join any messageboards, and if so, which ones?  If He ever lost an argument, would anybody dare post an "owned" picture?  Would people disrespect Him for a low post count, even though He's God?
