Order the new album off of Amazon and you get a streaming link to the full album immediately.

Ah. Had it been Rhett, I might have known.
-
My Amazon digital locker is only playing the first two songs. Anyone else who preordered having this problem?
-
I'm holding off on the pre-order.
Pre-listening has kind of spoiled buying a couple highly anticipated records for me recently.
Any PREview thoughts on the record tho?
I like the Isbell tune "Easy on Yourself."
[Whatever happened to his solo record?]
-
The digital locker freezes sometimes. Mine generally plays the whole thing though.
-
Now I can't get it to play at all. I guess I'll try at home, on the dial-up.
-
Seven Patterson tracks, two each by Cooley and Isbell.
One Isbell song, "Daylight" treads a little too close to generic Damnwells/Goo Goo Dolls territory, but the rest of the songs are quite good.
-
I love the soaring note that Isbell hits repeatedly on Daylight. I knew his voice was more versatile than prior albums had let on. It just makes me like him even more.
We do need that solo album.
-
Wonder how many takes it took him to hit it?

That's a good point. But he did it about six times in one take. Unless he hit it one time and it was Pro Tooled everywhere else.
-
Anybody heard anything about East Coast tour dates?
-
You know, I really thought this was more of a board-friendly band.
I expect them to tour July onward in the States after they get back from Europe.
-
With their European tour ending April 11 and their album coming out April 18, I'd expect them to tour the States before July.

Well then. Technically you can't go to those.
-
I don't know why, but I thought they were in Europe in June. Guess I was just absentminded.

Apparently Isbell's solo disc is done, but he's going to have to put it out through alternate means.

Youâ??ve recorded a solo album on New West, but it hasnâ??t been released. When can we expect something?
Iâ??ve been disenchanted with the labelâ??s idea of what to do with it. I have it and itâ??s mine and itâ??s finished. However, I have to put it out when it doesnâ??t interfere with a Drive-By Truckers release.

And Hood predicts 150 shows for 2006 after the album comes out.

Yes, and I was at the Gainesville show with my beautiful wife. One of my favorite DBT shows, all good shit, no filler, and at 2 1/2 hours long enough but not too long. Only a few songs from Blessing...was very interesting to see DBT outside of DC or SXSW related shows. This will probably be the closest this yankee gets to seeing them in "the south".

Its just as well there won't be anything local until at least late May. I would have hated if they came on a spring night on which I was already busy.
-
I pray the don't play DC on the one night I can't go, May 26.

Wow - what a gig. The M Lounge is one of the best venues I've been to.
It has a ~ 250 capacity! (plus great sound & sightlines)
Get on the train & hit that one.
-
If I were made out of money, I'd be there for sure.

Aren't you going to Madrid, Toeldo, Segovia, Granada and Sevilla in a few weeks? It's a cost-benefit thing rather than not having money I think.

You got it. Leaving Monday.

After this trip and thinking also about the previous one to Northern Spain, let me know which is the city you liked the most in Spain, always good to know what visitors think.
