 I would like to check out MIES but tomorrow night I am forced to see the Pixies, but one of these weeks I will show my face....

Um, I haven't seen the latter two, only Honeychuck. All local bands...not sure how to describe...You can check 'em out via their respective sites linked from DC9's calendar. I'm not much help, but $6, low-key, support local music and try to spot the 9:30 stapher, you should have a decent Monday. :)
