Title: Gays in the Military
Post by: on November 21, 2003, 10:54:00 am
If gays want to be 'out' in the military, shouldn't they have to prove themselves worthy, as a group, much like the Japanese-American Nisei battalion (http://www.asian-nation.org/442.shtml) did during the seige at Monte Casino (http://www.hawaiischoolreports.com/history/nisei.htm)?  This blooding could give them a lot more cred with the naysayers, eh?

1) segregated battalions are silly
 2) there have been plenty of gay people that have fought and died for the this country already.  sure, they weren't "out", but i think they have proved themselves

What about an airborne battalion of castrating lesbian priestesses?  I, for one, would run to the hills.  Their unit patch could be a pink pussycat?  They could lead in the hunt for Saddam and OBL?

Maybe you would like the album, dont try this at home?

 BILLY BRAGG LYRICS
                                                                                         EVERYWHERE LYRICS

Dig in boys for an extended stay
Those were the final orders to come down that day
Waiting to be saved in the Philippines
You'll wait forever for the young Marines

Now I believe to be here is right
But I have to say that I'm scared tonight
Crouching in this hole with a mouth full of sand
 What comes first
 the country or the man

Look at those slanted eyes coming up over the hill
 Catching us by suprise
it's time to kill or be killed

 Over here
 over there
 it's the same everywhere
A boy cries out for his mama before he dies for his home

All my life I wanted to be
As clever and strong as my best friend Lee
We grew up together along half Moon Bay
 Lee was Japanese
 born in the USA

When Tommy was fighting Jerry along the River Seine
Me and Lee we wanted to do the same
Then they bombed Pearl Harbor at the break of day
I was headed for these islands when Lee was hauled away

They said look at his slanted eyes

he's guilty as guilty can be
Sent here as enemy spies to sabotage the Land of the Free

 I never got home
 my platoon was never saved
That little fox hole became my island grave
Lee got out of jail but a prisoner he remained
Till he ended his own life to lose that ball and chain

 And they said
 Oh Little Slanted Eyes
 can't you forgive and forget
 And he said
 Oh Mr Friendly Ghost
Can you catch water in a net?

I dont think so, Lee was hauled away and interned for the length of the war. It is written from the perspective of Lee's friend......

 Read it again,

 Master has fallen.

Didn't Churchill describe the Royal Navy as "rum, buggery, and the lash...."

So it's true that the motto of the Royal Navy was "Never Leave Your Buddy's Behind"

I'm not sure that my wife is. But that won't sway me. I've tended to seem to notice men have been bigger fans of the Pogues than women, but that's just from a small sample. Maybe it has to do with how ugly Shane is.
