Anyone on here watch Lost?
-
I just started the last disc of Season One. I dont usually get too into TV shows, but I picked up the Season One DVD a few weeks back, and was hooked after the first episode. I love it.
-
only because my GF survives on it. so i watch with her.....first season was great i thought, this season is boring me a bit. but then again, we watched the first season in 2 weeks on DVD.
anyway, season finale is coming soon. I was hoping Hurley was gonna launch himself into the ocean.
-
i love this show, and i normally hate television.
although i do wish that 2 episodes ago, hurley HAD leaped into the ocean, and then a black screen had come up saying "THE END." it was all just a dream.
america would riots.
-
We watch it religiously.
-
The thought of it all being in Hurley's head crossed my mind as well..that would be a funny ending...Or have one of the castaways just wake up at the end of an episode and instead of The End, flash OWNED across the screen.
Have any theories about what the island is? There have been a lot of magnet references...I believe that somehow they use magnets to create the things people see on the island, Jack's Dad, the horse, Dave, the black smoke, etc, and the Losties are all some part of an elaborate human behavior study...
-
We also watch it religiously w/ some friends - that being said I thought last weeks episode was crap
-
i'm another one who came in late, so i was able to watch the entire first season in just a few days, which always makes things better, especially with a show like this. but i still feel like it's got a bit of "twin peaks" syndrome with the second season just not coming anywhere close to the first, although in this case it's because they don't know how to resolve anything as opposed to the fact they they did resolve the main thing. but i still wouldn't miss it. the henry gale stuff has been pretty interesting, but i don't understand how they established eko as the biggest badass on television besides jack bauer and just ditched him after that.
-
They've so inconsistently aired new episodes that I've missed 2 - 3 episodes since November or so. Once you miss an episode or two, it's much easier to lose interest. I should probably just wait and watch Season Two on DVD...

they have too many characters doing too many different things.

I've had this feeling about season 2 as well....its kind of a catch 22 situation - you have a brilliant first season which draws in viewers and make you a hit which means the suits at the network want to milk things for 4/5 seasons which means you have to slow the pace waaaaay down or introduce less interesting side plots

yeah, and that's another catch-22. one the main reasons the show works is that it's got this great big cast of characters, but then when you want them to focus in on someone, it never happens for more than one episode.
where the hell did desmond run off to, brotha?

A la Alias

24, at least for a two-episode arc that seemingly went nowhere.

Too similar to St.Elsewhere's ending.
-
Apparently when the show was pitched to ABC, they had story lines for the equivalent of 7 seasons...
-
Lost is amazing.
-
I'm definitely a fan. I agree that Eko has been underutilized. His episode was the best of this season.
-
My name, is Mr. Eko. This is my whooping stick

Yeah, Alias went way downhill...hopefully, it will be better this week, and wrap up.
24 is good, but lately, only the last 5 minutes of each episode are interesting. (last and this season the only good actor is Jack Bauer. The Pres. blows and looks like Nixon.)
LOST is slow this season, but I guess they have to slow it down or else the show would finish. I have no interest in the married couple...Charlie is a wanker this season...Jack is the best little actor ever. I love the Shakesperian style/themes b/w Eko/Jack/Locke.
-
24 has the ability to start really strong at the beginning of the season and then totally suck at the end. last years series ending was momumentally lame...

i believe Eko will have another episode this season, which i think has 4 more to go.
-
Who's the next character to be written off?
-
well libby is starring in another TV Show, so i would say possibly her character (although she is listed as a guest star)
its not in hurleys head - pretty sure anyway, since this has been a 'fan' theory since season 1 (hurley was the first person cast)
-
24 > lost AND alias
-
I really like Lost but I'm not really feeling 24. For me, it boils down to, "Does this show allow me to suspend the constraints of reality?" I'm willing to accept that the islanders have been there 40 plus days with perfect stubble and nice hair. I'm not willing to believe Jack Bauer can get anywhere in no time flat, always has a wireless signal and relays instructions so perfectly that Chloe never needs clairification.
-
Funny, as much as I love both shows, I have a harder time believing some events on 24 than I do on Lost.
For me, 24 started out great and completely believable. It's definitely gotten unrealistic as it's gone forward (Jack coming back from the dead and still saving the day without a moment's rest?). Now it's so over the top that it's like pro-wrestling; you take the bad with a grain of salt and marvel at how balls-out Bauer is.
And don't get me started on Chloe. She's the heart of that show now. I fell in love the moment she gunned down those baddies last season. Do you think we'll ever learn why she's such a bitch?

lol...yeah, he never needs Darby.
I still can't get over the other actors on 24 - deplorable. Especially season 4. (Even guys hate Kim.) Also, when I describe the show to people who have never seen it, I tell them if they added a laugh track it could be a comedy. Sometimes, they are bumbling idiots, one thing after another thrwarting their efforts. I mean really, catch the bad person / detonate the freakin' bomb already, okay?
I just read through a bunch of spoilers for LOST -- nothing really to report except the next episodes will finally rev up a bit. Re spoilers for 24 - 3 more years I guess...Maybe Jack Bauer should have an evil twin brother. (If the writers go this way - remember, I get all rights. ;) )
