When Hoya said we're here to help, he was talking about the "someone shoot me" part of your message.

Is the black guy in the wifebeater who just sort of barks like a dog and waves his hands a regular band member?

I believe that in the lexicon of live music, that gentleman would be called a "guest".

Further, I believe he is a "rapper".  It is an emerging genre, perhaps you've heard of some of the more famous "rap" performers:  DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince, Sugarhill Gang, or Blondie. This genre, also sometimes referred to as "hip-hop", has been sheparded by African Americans, though it is slowly being embraced by America's white youth culture.

it'll never happen.

About as much chance of that happening as black youth embracing country music.

Are you serious?  Take a look at MTV nowadays...it's a pretty even split between hip hop/rap/R&B related videos and shows and rock-related ones.  And I've driven through plenty of podunk towns and seen white kids thuggin' like they were in Compton.

As for country in the black communities, I do believe that a 10-gallon hat would get you jacked...

Yes, but I seemed to see more black teens than rednecks wearing expensive NASCAR jackets there for awhile.

I guess NASCAR wear just isn't equivalent to country music...

Really?  I've seen the M&M's, Looney Toons and NFL logo jackets, but never any NASCAR ones.  Of course, there are very few minorities allowed inside my gated community.

The M&M logo jacket is a NASCAR jacket. #38, Elliott Sadler.

That might be it.  I'm not a NASCAR fan.  Is Mark Martin still driving the WCW car?
