Title: RIP Matthew Jay
Post by: Jaguär on September 30, 2003, 07:57:00 pm
Very sorry about this and highly regret that he never got to play this area (that I know of).

The man (http://www.nme.com/news/106302.htm) had a beautiful voice and good songs.

 Our loss.

a great songwriter with a better-than-average band backing him up.  i can't figure out why he never came over here...but he always put on a good show.

He did make it across the Atlantic but on a very limited basis. I know he opened for Doves for some of their shows during their 2001 tour when we got stuck with the fucking Webb Brothers.

Odd, it was only about a month or two ago that I was trying to remember his last name because I wanted to hear some of his music and all I could come up with was Matthew Sweet, which I knew was a completely different person.
