So frustrating....  
 
 It just reminds me of how talented they were when they played songs that included rhythm and melody.

have you even listened to the new album?  plenty of rhythm (the opening track is in 5/4!), "all i need" and "house of cards" definitely have melody.

According to my last.fm charts, I've listened to the new album approximately 7 times (about half as many times as the new Britney Spears album, I might add).  I'm surprised you guys didn't look there.

i just want to state that, as i am listening to it right now, In Rainbows grows on me more and more everytime i listen to it.
 
  The musical arrangements in the songs are quite pleasing to the ear. so many pleasant sounds to hear in each song.
 
  not just guitar drums lyrics, repeat.

thats what i love about this board.
 
 everyone's listening to Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead and Britney Spears, yet some ppl are always complaining about all the hipsters on this board....

LOL - awesome! i just realized ill be in california at the end of next week for a week. so perhaps you, me and some other boardies can get together in SF.
