Anyone have a suggestion on Atmosphere. I'm looking for some good emo-rap and thinking of buying their new album. I am skeptical of magazine reviews, since Dizzie Raschal got all this press and I think he stinks.
Peace.

emo rap??? that's an odd combo. anyway, i like atmosphere, and im not a big fan of rap. i wouldnt buy the new album though, i would download some of his older stuff.

I like them. Slug is a great rapper and Ant's production fits him well. His new album is as good as his last few, so pick up either that (Seven's Travels), God Loves Ugly, or Lucy Ford. He's playing next weekend here, should be a great show.

I think the only "emo-rap" you'll find is the person who actually made up the term, and that's Slugs of Atmosphere.
They're OK...

Can't say that I'm into him at all but at least Slugs seems to know something about music, which is something I don't really believe of some of the MTV Rappers. To me he's more Gay German Disco Rap. At least, in my twisted mind.

Yeah I got the term emorap from Spin magazine which featured Atmosphere. Any other rap groups you can compare Atmosphere to?

he was at warped tour, saw for a minute then ranaway for more free energy drink and easy mac because "slugs" looked retarded, and sucked more then a las vegas prostitute.

The Def Jux roster (http://www.definitivejux.net/jukies/) and some from Anticon (http://www.anticon.com/) for starters...
The 'Ill Community' board at All Hip-Hop (http://www.allhiphop.com/) is a good place to get info on all sorts of hip-hop styles.
