Title: Top 10 Dumbest Moments in Forum History
Post by: kosmo vinyl on March 04, 2005, 09:33:00 am
Channeling a little Rob, Barry and Dick today. Here's a couple to start everyone out. Just remember bitches I can edit your posts...

 1. The guy who posted his cellphone number and asked Jerry Cantrell to give him a call.

 4. The fallout after the idiocy of the Murder City Devils.

 8. Kosmo Vinyl posts "Paul McCartney is always better when he collaborates with someone else".

My favourite was.

I threw a cup from the balcony and I got chucked out for no reason. Then I took my dad to the club to tell the nasty man off for throwing me out. Boo Hoo.

 My least favourite was:

I cannot get to the show because there are five flakes of snow on the ground. Can I have a refund?

I almost forgot. I want a forum party with booze and presents and I want someone to organise it all, BTW I am not free any weekend until the year 2525. I think I might have Thurday night free in about 2 years time.

yeah the cup throwing one is a true classic, although I think the father was with the son at the show.  the kid threaten to sue the club in his first post, then tried to impersonate his father on the forum when he didn't get any love from the other posters.

there are also a couple of real beauties on last page of the forum as well...

Who was the band that played Conan in NY then arrived late for a show, only playing for a like a half hour becasue there gear hadn't arrived?

Also, was it the Beastie Boys that had their flight cancelled and had to take the train, but sent pizza's to the club for those that stuck around?

I get the feeling I'm confusing the two.

Wasn't that Keane? Or some band that reminds me of them?

That was Keane..their gear was in place but they got stuck on bad weather the story goes. They played for some 40 minutes which isn't bad considering that:

a- they only have one record; and

b- the French Kicks played a longer set to compensate.

Yeah, Keane has two sets of equipment (or did for their first US tour).  One that they could fly with to do Conan or Jay Leno the other (the gear they really like to use) is with the bus.  So they flew did the show, got hosed, but made it and did play.  Give them an A for effort.

i was just reading the rolling stone article on the arcade fire (has anyone heard of them? i hear they're "hot") and the same thing happened to them, except their equipment was real late getting delivered from conan's show to a club IN MANHATTAN

Julian vs. Yada

can confirm.

Rolling integers?

can definitely confirm.

Seth to Corky comparisons.

cannot recollect.

Seth to Walrus comparisons.

cannot confirm.  that was some amazing creative writing.  the forum was a better place for it.  (aside: it was a transformation, not a comparison)

Seth posting on here, after "the incident."

yeah, not quite an own-goal, so not entirely dumb, but not awesome either.
