I wonder if it has any potential? (http://www.dawnofthedeadmovie.net/) The original is classic.

I don't know. I saw the trailer in the theater, and it looked pretty damn scary. Dawn of the Dead really freaked me out the first time I saw it, so hopefully they'll do the remake some justice.
-
Or, it could mimic the failure of "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" remake and be one of the worst films of the year....
-
texas chainsaw massacre was awesome!!!
hahahaha so is going for a phy(sic)al and watching rap videos.
-
thumbs up from me, great to see the return of the zombie flick, remake all of em.

Return of the Living Dead did it right. Use the story, update it, but give it its own path. My only question is why start with the sequel?
-
Via the trailer I can tell you this film already suffers from MTV-itis. Too many teen characters. Heck fire! Even the premise is off: The dead are already walking as original DAWN starts. BTW, in the new Dawn the dead run, they don't amble. It sounds rather like a rip-off of 28 days later. The only positive I can see is there's a scheduled reissue of the orignal Dawn on DVD. It's a must-buy.

Shaun of the Dead

Very interesting.
The new zombie style definitely cops 28 Days Later.
And from the clip - I bet you the lady births a living dead zombie baby a la the Harry Dean Potter scene in Alien.
I'll go see it...having grown up here in Romero country. The trouble will be in finding someone to go with me.
The real question though is...which will be better?
Dawn of Dead '04, or
Starsky & Hutch '04

Didn't Tom Savini do a remake of Night of the Living Dead a few years back?

I think Vince Vaughn will be the only thing worthwhile in S&H Mach 04 -- which is a shame. Owen's my homie.

I'm assuming that Snoop is Huggy Bear?
That sounds worthwhile to me. Fo shizzy....

Vince Vaughan's 15 minutes were up about 5 years ago...another talentless Hollywood clod.

For Dupek and anyone else interested:
Apparently, USA is showing the first 10 minutes of the new Dawn of the Dead, uncut and uncensored, next Monday night. It'll be aired sometime after 8:00 pm, during a showing of Final Destination. No word on the exact time (at least not on the USA Network website), but I'll let you know if I find anything out.

Try the Blackout game

The original was re-released on DVD today! I'll wait for the Ving version on DVD. The only films I ever get to see at cinny are usually G-Rated kid fare. I did see TRIPLETS OF BELLVILLE. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat stuff that, like Heavy Metal magazine.
