Nice VA looking good for McCain!!!!

hey rusty, be sure to give us a full report... i would have been out there with you were it not for this pesky thing called work and it taking place during rush hour
-
I can't make it... but I am volunteering in Virginia on election day and the weekend beforehand. As are all my friends.
Contact the local Obama office -- they are well organized and will put you to work. If you live in DC, contact the DC office and they will refer you to the places in VA that need help the most. Since DC is overwhelmingly Democratic us DC-ites are badly needed in VA.
VA could make the difference in sending McBush/Failin to the sewage treatment plant!

I almost went, but I've heard that these things are ridiculous. Plus I was busy curling up in a ball and crying because I'm broke, can't find a job, my dad has a wedding to pay for and can't afford my college tuition. So there you have it.
How was it? Did he play all his hits?

the opening act, the tim kaines, finished their set with "is this woodstock? (http://www.usatoday.com/news/politics/election2008/2008-10-22-campaign-wednesday_N.htm)" - sure to be a new classic.
obama mixed it up with old hits - "i'm not more of the same", "make sure you don't let up", "95% means YOU", "colors do change" - and his new numbers, like "not my crisis". he scored major points with the crowd when he unleashed a new unreleased track, "looks like real Virginia to me".
an estimated 35,000 fans turned up for the show, including:

Obama Tells Virginia Supporters of 'Righteous Wind At Our Backs'
October 22, 2008 6:57 PM
LEESBURG, VA -- "I cant imagine a more beautiful setting for us to be thinking about the last 13 days," said Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., this evening in Northern Virginia. "I've been traveling across this great state of Virginia for months. I've met folks everywhere I go. I haven't seen a real Virginia and a fake Virginia, I've just seen Virginia," he said, in a dig at the comments of Nancy Pfotenhauer, an adviser to Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., who said Southern Virginia, where McCain is stronger, is the "real Virginia," as opposed to Northern Virginia, a Democratic stronghold.
"If you'll stand with me, then I know that we can win Virginia and we can win this election and we can finally bring the change we need to Washington," Obama told the estimated crowd of 35,000. "I feel like we got a righteous wind at our backs here."

Anyone who voted for Bush in the previous two elections should lose their right to vote..
