if Bono gets a new job as head of the World Bank, won't that affect touring?

Tickets are listed for $163, $98, & $52.50. If the floor tickets are $52.50, where are the other seats?

For those prices, I'm going to have to use Vansmack's well defined method of sneaking into the MCI Center.

Prolly just giving out numbers to those in line at 8 am to come in and buy at 10 am.  That way, no stampede of the non-internet using ticket buying public.

SO I got a couple general admission tix on the presale this mornign but notice that there were two different prices.  52.50 and (gasp) $163.  Every other city seems to have all of their general admission tix ONLY at the standard $50 price range so I have no idea what the $163 is for.

The Edge Still Introducing Self As Such

MALIBU, CAâ??U2 guitarist The Edge, born David Evans, introduces himself by his stage name, sources reported Monday. "He showed up at
parent-teacher conferences, extended his hand, and said, 'Hi, I'm Sian's father The Edge,'" said Dory Beckman, a second-grade teacher at
Malibu Heights Elementary. "I didn't quite understand, so he said, 'U2's The Edge.' Well, I guess with all the records he's sold, he's
entitled to call himself whatever he wants." Employees at Gladstone's 4 Fish restaurant said Evans placed "The Edge" on their waiting list
when he took his family out for fried scallops last week.

Okay, so ticketmaster's site is no longer listing $163 for general admission.  That price is for the lower level "seats" (fuck that).  It seem $52.50 is the price for all general admission tix.

I've got GA tix for thursday's show. When do you think I should  get to MCI to be close up?

Oh, and just to let you know, I'll accept  one joke answer (i.e. "leave now") and then I want a real one.     :)

If i can get GA tix, i'll be out there again for another 13 hours...but i find its highly unlikely that i'll even go since i didn't pay to join any clubs...and i can't afford the other seats

I caught the Joe Cocker appearance.  Were you as shocked as I was?  He didn't hit a single note until the last half of the song. ..then again, I'm not sure he was ever a fav. of mine.  Sad or funny?

I found it very moving.  I have always been a fan of Joe Cocker, despite his appearance flaws, because I always get the feeling he's giving it his all.  He put everything into it - I thought he was nearing crying half through it.  Smackette agrees with you though, if it weren't for the second half of the song, NBC likely would have cut the performance from the show.

I could have done without the Kenny G clone and the keyboard player who must have had his iPod set to a different beat, but I could watch Joe Cocker do well written songs all night.  I may even buy the album after seeing that performance.

i don't know how i did it...

 2 GA/floor for 2nd night.

i went back again thinking "it can't be that easy?!"...15 minute wait time on my 2nd search.

Post by: Bags on March 12, 2005, 11:28:00 am
That is just bullshit....I logged on within 15 seconds of a friend who was trying in NYC.  My wait time progressed as follows:

 3 minutes
 6 minutes
 4 minutes
 12 minutes
 15 minutes
 (and down)

Luckily he got section 110 tickets for Thursday ($178 each).  I got a couple seats up in 420.  Oy vey.

yeah it would be much cheaper technology wise to just setup a lottery and people get what they get based on luck...

I got two GAs for the first MCI night....  I'll get there in the afternoon sometime.  I waited all day in KY four years ago and was as on the rail... but I can't say I really cared this year,  I'd certainly trade some reasonably placed upper deck seats for these if anyone I come across is interested.  Bottom line was that I wasn't going to pay anymore than I had to... so GA it was.

no way.

there's no point in ever buying single game tickets for any professional sport.

you'll find better seat locations for cheaper than face on craigslist ... season ticket holders dump their unwanted seats, and they pay less than face value for their tix, right now they're trying to get face value for their seats, but the market will stabilize once the season opens and they'll realize they'll have to sell for below face ...

my friend has wizards season tickets, pays $37.50 a game for $80 face seats ... he goes to 15 or so games a year, sells the rest for $60-70 (more for lakers, etc) and ends up making money on the whole thing

i was actually considering getting a 41 game half-season ticket package for the nationals in the upper outfield reserve ($350ish) and just selling the opening day seats on ebay or CL, the opening day tix are going for $200-300 per ticket, so one idiot who just has to go to opening day would basically pay for the rest of your season.

maybe here, your system would not work for cardinals tickets in st. louis though

I considered buying tickets for the saturday cardinals game here in august and had baseline box seats on ticketmaster, but decided against it $40 is too much, i will decide closer to the date

Since this is a u2 thread, I'll at least wade in confrontation.  What is it with baseball people enjoy?  Yeah, I know "something for everybody"... but when I grew up in the sticks and played LL, I thought it was cool... but then when I moved more urban (10 years ago), BB really got lost for me.  Defining moment:  Sitting in Camden Yards one summer afternoon about 6 years ago, just reading a paper.  No action, players going through motions, steroid ball (recently).  At least in the comforts of my own home, this activity cost 50 cents, that summer afternoon was way more than that.  Never again.

hmmm not quite sure what to say about this mp3, other than i'm only the messenger... it will surely offend U2 fans or people drinking the red koolaid, without a sense of humour.
