Not making it down to DC to catch em tonight, but I did see them @ sonar last night. I must say, Revolting Cocks really stole the show. The new singer looks like a cross between crispen glover and jake gyllenhaal. They played all the classics plus a few off the new album - opened up with Beers, Steers and Queers , also played Something Wonderful, Physical, Do ya think i'm sexy, fire engine, dark entries, revco au lait, and i'm probably missing a few. I was hoping to hear Attack Ships on Fire, but they didn't play it (i think they played it in NYC though). Luc van Acker was great on stage as well - giant penis costume and all!
Ministry played mostly stuff from the new album (rio grand blood) and animositisoma + n.w.o, theives, stigmata, so what, and psalm 69. most of the background video was obscured since sonars ceilings are low - that sucked. raven was killer on bass though - kinda got annoyed with tommys gestures, but still cool that he obviously wanted to get the crowd pumped up. Rumor has it Al and Tommy dont get along well (imagine that). I think they need to can the drummer from slipknot though - I mean, he's not a bad drummer, but his style doesn't really fit in with ministry IMHO - the sound of the drums just didn't sound right. I woudl attribute this to sonar, but I've seen complaints of his drumming all over the net.
Pitbull Daycare (the openers) were terrible..miss them if you can. but show up early enough to see Revolting Cocks...show of the year.

Thanks for the update, that was awesome. I didn't know Luc was still with RevCo, so I take it Jello isnt actually touring with them? It sounded like a good set, I'm hoping they play "Viagra Culture", to me that is the best song on the newest cd.
Can't wait, I will definetely be there for Ministry/RevCo., but not for whoever that opening band is.

What? No Jesus Built My Hot Rod? That's it, I'm not going!
Thanks for the review. Sounds like it's gonna be a fun show tonight. Also sounds like I'll be hanging at the bar for the first act.

Giant penis costume!! That is what I was going to wear to the show!! Show should rock, can not wait!!

Wel, Pitbull Daycare wasn't that bad...though, I was about to give the lead signer a V8 if he slapped himself in the head one more time.
RevCo was completely out of control, and certainly made the night.
And what about Ministry? Well, if I wanted to watch videos of George Dubyah all night, I could have stayed home and watched Fox news. I mean seriously, I go out to have fun, not to be reminded of the pathetic state of things. At least the encore was relatively free of political bombardment. So what, indeed!

I agree Pitbull Daycare was not that bad. Rev Co did steal the show. They seemed to be having so much fun and they had a seven foot penis on stage for their version of ??do you think I am sexy?. Ministry was good as they always are. I read that the drummer sucked (Ministry??s), but I thought he did fine job.

I still can't hear a damn thing. I didn't see the first band, RevCo kicked ass and were just flat out crazy. Ministry were....well....Ministry, they never disappoint. I do think that Al needs to lose his infatuation for Bush though.

Yea great show indeed until I had one to many drinks I guess and thats where night ended for me. Revco was great but after that i dont remember shit, I woke up in my car having been thrown out of the show. Everthing is a blur, fuck me why did I drink all of that tequila. So I basically missed Ministry, woke up bleeding all over the inside of my car and i cant remember nothing but a dancing penis on stage. My apologies to the security at the 9:30 club for being such a fuck up. If anybody saw me (kinda big guy wearing a psychic tv shirt) and can help me fill in the gaps of what the hell happened that night please fill me in. Thanks

Leave the tequila drinking to the professionals like Uncle Al! At least you didn't wake up bleeding with your penis dancing!
I just might catch this show tomorrow night back up in Detroit!!
