Are they any good? I find it hard to resist a free show.

I seem to remember that the last time The Rapture played the Black Cat, board members gave the show a bad review
-
But pitchfork gave the album a 9.0

I think I might go check them out. I'll go in with low hopes, that way I can be pleasantly surprised.

I'm still getting over the flu, or I'd love to go.
Goddamn it. By the way, GO GET YOUR FLU SHOT. I've been sick for five days, and it's the pits.
Hope you went, Markie, and it was a gas.

.
I respectfully disagree. The flu shot rarely matches the strain of flu, rendering the shot useless against fighting it off.I know plenty of people who took it and are now sick.I didn't and am fine.I am also of the idea that taking said shot is detrimental to your bodies natural immune system.Hope you feel better soon Bags!

so did you venture out last night markie or did our collective apathy and the crap weather keep you tucked up at home?

Apathy and the promise of ordered in Chinese kept me at home. I didnt get Chinese food in the end either. But I am glad I stayed in as I got to see the epic samurai trilogy on IFC. It ran from 9pm till 3 am. It was fantastic.
But that means tonight I have to run, literally, to the 930 to get tickets.

In a fit of idiocy last night, I shelled out $10 for the new El Guapo album. I'm listening to it right now and my soul is shrivelling.
Did anyone else go to that show? I thought that The Rapture was quite good.

My crew was extremely impressed with The Rapture - very tight, energetic show. I felt a bit silly standing amongst a lot of young gals swooning over the lead singer as he leaned over the front row, but whatever, it was intense. El Guapo sounded great as well, although the drummers faux-neurotic Ian Curtis imitation was a little off-putting. I picked up the album as well - and yeah, not really doing it for me.

Er, yeah. If you're talking about the blonde ones, I was standing in front of them. Or maybe I was one of them. Ooer.
