wtf - i guess the other two major label releases they put must have been a figment of my imagination.... just got the new cd last night. it's a good one, a couple of duff tracks which could have be b-sides, but even average fow songs are better than anything limp bizkit has ever cough up.

Does anyone remember Janes Addiction losing to Jethro Tull for best new artist? That was classic.

Wasn't it was Metallica's Kill 'em All and Jane's Addiction's Nothing Shocking losing to Jethro Tull for hard rock?

That could be it. For some reason I thought that there was one that involved the "New Artist" catagory too.

It was Jane's Addiction as well as Metallica (...and Justice for All), AC/DC, Iggy Pop, and Jethro Tull, but the award was best hard rock/metal performance.
I think they even invited Metallica to perform "One" on the show, and still gave it to Jethro Tull.
2 or 3 years later Metallica did win and Lar$ thanked Jethro Tull for not putting an album out.

The grammies are so fucking useless they don't mean crap to anyone who cares about music.
Nonetheless, I will root for FoW and the White Stripes (not by watching, cuz I'd have to poke my eyes out, but in my heart....).
And, of course, Foo Fighters One by One, best rock album, and "Times Like These" best rock group song.
Oh, and Queens of the Stone Age for best hard rock performance.

i thought they lost to them for best heavy metal album...do they even have a metal category? nevermind

In defense of the Grammy nominations, the country nominations are more respectable. You get good artists who don't even get country radio airplay like Dolly Parton, Lyle Lovett, and Johnny Cash nominated, whereas the Toby Keith's of the world get zilch. At least that's a little bit of justice.
