Surprised there has no chatter about this. I am really excited to see DC Berman live. Could the first AND last tour of the Joos!
Anyone else heading to the Ottobar? Never been there, so it will be a night of many firsts.

i'll be there. i was at charlottesville on thursday, the new york shows on friday and saturday and am heading up to philly on tuesday. lots o' fun so far. DCB is clearly new at this, but he's getting better and it's a damn near uplifting experience. read all about it -- new york (http://soidisantra.typepad.com/soi_disantra/2006/03/i_gotta_say_it_.html), charlottesville (http://soidisantra.typepad.com/soi_disantra/2006/03/birds_of_virgin.html).

So it seems there will be no SM on tour. That is too bad.

it is, but at the same time it isn't. it's best that there won't be anyone shouting for "summer babe" and "cut your hair." there's a really soild band with two excellent guitarists (peyton pinkerton of new radiant storm king and william tyler of lambchop). and they're most likely going to do another tour w/malkmus (although possibly just on the other coast).

if anyone was at this show last nite, consider yourself lucky. it was my 5th (and last) on this tour and was so far and away the best. a packed ottobar is a pretty fun place. berman was looser and the band was tighter than ever. good combo. i haven't had that much fun in a long time.

I thought it was great and glad to hear that it was better than others in comparison. Sat upstairs, so we had a perfect view. I had just commented that they sounded a lot like the Dead about a minute before DCB came back on and said it. happen to have the setlist? I remember the songs, just not the order.

yeah, i've been saying all tour that they have a definite dead thing going on at certain spots, and not just because i've been following them around. when you've got two lead guitarists that's bound to happen.

Thanks.

I thought it was a great show. Aside from the people who just don't move for you when you need to get to the bar or the bathroom.
but, the music was great!

Any chance SM will be onboard for the Pitchfork Festival?
