How about Merriweather on a SATURDAY (no traffic!)
. . . or epic Bull Run 5th Anniversary Show(s) at the Club . . .
-
hmmmmm....radiohead, put them in the same category as the Stones and Guns N Roses, "Irelevant bands that refuse to go away"

I'm not going on a US/Canadian tour.
-
Radiohead will probably play Merriweather this summer, I'd put money on that.
-
June 19th & 20th
The Auditorium Theater
Chicago, IL

Radiohead will be performing at the Tower Theater in Philadelphia, PA on June 1 and 2.
We expect an official announcement very soon....
-
<sniff> I smell 2 nights at Constitution Hall.
-
Call me crazy, but I think a Radiohead show at Constitution Hall would actually be very cool. Assuming the sound would be ok, I think it'd be a fine place to absorb a Radiohead show.
-
I don't think good sound is possible at constitution.
-

I'm still betting on the Strathmore, similar to what Sigur Ros did.

nothing would be cool about a radiohead show at constitution hall.

That would be my second choice.
-
it would be nice to be able to catch radiohead within 300 miles of my house, but i wouldn't go to DAR for it. i'd rather travel to philly or elsewhere than go to dar. and i didn't like the tower theater when i went.
i'm eyeing the SF shows.

i thought rh was a big band. on the level of mci arena or merriweather/nisson or at least patriot ctr. ch seems too small.

they certainly are, but they seem to be avoiding arena one offs in favor of two night stints at smaller venues. if they are playing the Auditorium in Chicago, for example, why not play at the United Center or the Allstate Arena?
I think they prefer the acoustics of the theaters.

i was thinking it had something to do with them not being on a label at the moment and not having label $ to produce an arena/amphitheatre show.
that is a complete guess on my part.
-
The tower holds about as many people as DAR. Maybe a few hundred more.

Normally, they are. They played Merriweather last time around. Did that sell out? I know the reserved seating was filled.
However, this appears to be a get-out-of-the-studio-and-experiment type tour. Not exactly a big scale tour.
-
after reading six million and three radiohead articles/sites etc...i am now guessing DC doesnt even get a show on this tour.
so pack your bags for Philly people!
-
Radiohead to play Boston's Bank of American Pavilion on June 4th and 5th.
does this mean, hope for Merriweather?
or do they just hate the DC area!
-
Actually, I think that Seth and any of the other promoters are afraid of tempting the weather gods. Especially considering that they would be in the area so close to the HFStival.
-
does rolling stone just have seth on speed dial for quotes about the touring industry? seems like he's in every "why aren't people coming to shows anymore?" piece that they run every couple of months

also the BOA pavilion is MUCH smaller than Merriweather..but its outside. :)

yeah. that hfstival lineup will outdraw radiohead by a lot.
-
Radiohead will play
Philadelphia - Tower Theatre (in upper darby)
June 1st and 2nd.
tickets on sat may 6th
Boston - Bank of America Pavilion
June 4th and 5th
tickets on say may 6th
Toronto - Hummingbird Centre
June 7th and 8th
tickets on sat may 6th
and rumoured to play MSG on 6/13 and 6/14
in addition to Bonnaroo on 6/18.
june is filling up and i dont see where a DC date fits in. (cause you know we're not lucky enough to get 6/10 and 6/11!!)
-
Full line up is on pitchfork today. No dc/b'more dates :(
-

i dont blame em really.
-
Damn. This sucks.
-
Is WASTE putting up tickets? I might go to the second night of Philly.
-
radiohead obviously hates DC (and the southeast)
-
This tour is crap.

it does come at a bad time for me. memorial day weekend is busy for me, then Pearl Jam on the 30th, i am booked the WHOLE following weekend.
looks like i may only catch the Philly show as well. unless i can swindle someone out of some cash and make it to Montreal.
-

They always do small tours when experimenting/working out new songs. I saw them in Spain before the release of Hail To the Thief and it was amazing. The drive to Philly will be well worth it.
-
i'm looking at 1 of the philly shows + both toronto and both montreal.

i havne't been there. i had 4th row tickets for a show there a couple years ago but bailed on the trip. i'll be splitting the cost with some other people, so overall the trip shouldnt' be too terribly expensive.
-

yeah, whereas somehow, i would end up paying for two people!

that's the situation i used to be in.. heh
there will probably be several of us roadtripping from toronto-> montreal (assuming we can all get tickets) so that'd be even more ways split for a hotel room.
i haven't been to montreal since the last radiohead show there and i'm looking forward to going back.
-
Looks like tickets for Philly will go on sale at WASTE "at some point Tuesday". Great. It will probably happen at like 3am again.

It's not the draw I was talking about. It's bringing the storm clouds out at the same time as an outdoor festival.
You must know your Radiohead/DC area history to understand.

i had tickets for both of the bull run shows if that's what you're referring to.
if you're going farther back, i am aware of what happened the day they were supposed to play the TFC at RFK as well 3 years earlier.
i've had tickets to 3 radiohead events that have been cancelled/postponed.
-
Then you should definitely understand what I meant.
-
set your alarm, dear! expect a wake up call at 3.30 am as well! :D

me two, and if you count Tibetan Freedom Concert and Field Day, AND the time when mcar car broke down on the way to Boston the day AFTER bull run...its like 6!!!!
-
i am just glad the blackout in 03 didn't affect quebec and allowed me to at least go to one of the shows i went up to canada for... not to mention it would have been hot with no power.
-
The w.a.s.t.e. store is open! Just got my June 1st tickets!
-
Got my June 2nd tickets :)
And Berkeley tickets!!!
-
Philly June 1 is in hand... I love WASTE. And they even ask fot your t-shirt size.
-
i should have set my alarm for a few minutes earlier.
i missed out on the philly tickets.
i'll have to try on the regular onsale.
i did, however, get tickets to both toronto and both montreal! mission accomplished!
-
i could only get one for boston... so I am going to roll solo up to boston I guess, how depressing... wish I did not drink that much last night... monday is the new friday
-
ARGH! Philly is sold out. This sucks.
-
i didnt even know about this presale. waste never sent me an email.
i am more mad than i have been in years.
i definitely cant express it in typing.
did they send out an email?
if anyone has two philly tickets, i will trade my Pearl Jam tickets for them, in ONE SECOND.

glass arm shattering, how did you score your tickets? randomly (as in, you woke up and immmediately checked)? by way of a heads up? did you hit refresh for hours on end? throughout the night, i am only prepared to check on tickets that go on sale "sometime" at 1am, 4am, and 6:33am, i guess. rather disheartening to know i ultimately missed by minutes. i'll be entering the saturday morning crapshoot.

Just woke up at 6am like normal, checked WASTE, saw they were not available yet. Before jumping in the shower, hit refresh and they were on-sale. I believe around 6:30am.... Same thing happened in 2003, but I believe it was 4am in the morning.
-
damn. good for you. the early bird got the worm.
-
No kidding...and no, an e-mail was not sent out. I just saw somewhere that tickets would be on sale "at some point" today. I knew that it would be early, I guess it's my own damn fault I didn't get up earlier.

Does this salle wilfred whatever venue use ticketmaster? I missed out on getting pre sale tix to the first montreal show and am probably going to have to get them on friday, but it isn't listed on ticketmaster's site.
