Any actually able to do this? It's not working on my end...
-
Not working here either.
-
No luck here either on the 2 for 1.
-
Not working here either. Do we need to just add 1 ticket to the cart? Or 2 tickets?
-
I'm assuming that if you want two tix, you just buy one and the second ticket will magically appear in the mail or at will call.
-
I'm confused too! It limits me to purchasing two...is this it and there is simply no mention of the free tickets?
-
im assuming it magically comes to... isnt the usual limit 4?
-
I just called tickets.com, and they said buy 1 ticket and then pick "will call" for pick-up. At will-call you'll have your purchased ticket, plus a free ticket waiting for you.
They should have been more clear about this, but essentially, buy what you want, then the free tickets will supposedly be there at the box office.
-
bummer - im having the same problem - thought i would find the answers here ;)
-
i called tickets.com and they said buy the tickets you want, then the free one will be with your tickets at will call. but, you have to choose will call as the option.
they should have been more clear with this 2 for 1 offer...
-
Called Tickets.com...just order 1 or 2 tickets max and they automatically add the second or free ticket...after 11am.
Where's the Soulive show on the 28th? Am I missing something?
-
bummer - im having the same problem - thought i would find the answers here ;)
-
I just bought the two (needed two or four depending on schedules) figuring that they will either mail me two extra or I'll argue for a refund with my printed/timed receipt.
-
Crap. I selected Mail Delivery. Does this mean I won't get the 2nd ticket???
-
Cool. Got it worked out. But really .. could have been more clear on this issue there Seth ;)
Regardless, thank you for the opp. I sure hope my second ticket is at will call though.
-
that sounds sketch
-
Argh, I did mail as well! On hold now...
-
So what if we've already ordered the tickets, but didn't choose will call?
-

i just bought one ticket for EODM
so if something happens - i show up and my second ticket isn't there, i'll just sell it i suppose... and be extremely annoyed.
-
I'd like to mention how it's fucking bullshit there is a $4 service charge for picking up your tickets at will call. What a joke.
-
the guy at tickets.com i talked to specifically said will call, but also said to print out your confirmation email which shows the date/time you purchased (so there's proof you bought during time/date the special offer was going on).
hopefully this will work or there is going to be a lot of pissed off people.

I too just bought 1 EODM ticket, though I'm going for the Duke Spirit. When I noticed that I wasn't being given any free ticket immediately, I checked this board and chose will call accordingly.
-
I called tickets.com and they told me that I will get the free ticket regardless if I choose will call or mail.
-

you do realize that it costs money to process a ticket order whether it's mailed out or not, to pay for someone to answer the phone when there is a ordering issue, and tickets.com is a for profit business..
-
so quick question for purchasing of a ticket in 10 minutes to take advantage of this...which tickets would be best to try to get into a man's pants with?
this deal doesn't work that well for me as I always go to shows alone
-
I also just got off of the phone with tickets.com. Both mail and will call will receive the free ticket.
-
I originally took it to be "buy one ticket for a show, get another ticket for another show free." From what I'm reading (and seeing in my shopping cart), it seems like it's "buy one ticket for a show, get another ticket for the same show free." Is the second interpretation the only correct one?
-
This is a great promotion, but clearly not done w/ the best execution as it has created tons of confusion. Glad these boards are here to sort it out. I'm optimistic it will all come out in the wash. But then again, I'm feeling awful damn optimistic about the future today :-)
-
Tickets.com just told me to buy one ticket and they would know based on the time I purchased to give me a free ticket (of course the receipt doesn't even have the time purchased!) at the box office. After reading the posts here about requiring will call, I called back again because I had selected to have my ticket mailed to me. This time, the guy put me on hold, and said that selecting will call was not a requirement, and that they the extra ticket would be mailed to me. Who knows what's going to happen. What a half baked promotion! Get it together 9:30!!!
-
Also called and told it didn't matter if tickets were will call or mailed.
-
oh but I do want to say thanks Seth...this is truly awesome! Seriously badass deal, I just wish I could take advantage of it.

I received an immediate and automatic email confirmation...that should be proof as to the time of our orders.

But I don't want a hipster boy! I did buy these tickets though. Hopefully I can at least get my sister to go, although hopefully she'll find another ride cause I don't wanna leave early so she can wake up for school the next morning. Ugh.

That's crap, it's another way to nickel and dime people. These would always be included in the ticket price but now it's $6 here and $4 there. The will call person is there and paid for. Total crap

Yes, but isn't that what the service charge is supposed to be paying for?
I agree, a "delivery" fee for will-call is bullshit.

i dont know that you'd get a hipster boy so much as a straight up dirty guy who drinks a lot of beer and is pretty fun. you do "get" the band right?
-
all the shows announced now are garbage..is this just a coincidence?
-
the will call person is a 9:30 employee not a tickets.com employee
-
i also thought it was buy a ticket and get one free for any show you choose.
-
What bullshit. How much you want to bet when you show up at will call you will only have 1 ticket waiting for you.
-
That's the sinking feeling I have. So I just wasted $10 when I could have just made a trip to the box office and got it with $20. I'm fucking pissed.
-
I'm a dork, I figured the offer was in person only - heh.
-
I just bought 2 STS( thinking they were going to discount at purchase. NO, now I have 4 tickets and only need 2. This is a bigger hassle than expected.
I have 2 STS9 2-day passes if anyone wants. 40 bucks
-
they said sometime after 11 am today they will add the complimentary ticket. My confirmation arrived at 11:04 am and she said she's not sure if I'll get the free tickets!! arrgghh...
But, I purchased the tickets when there were only 2 tickets on the drop down screen..so I have reason to believe I will get them :)
-
I bought 2 tickets and selected the mail option and I bought them at full price because it didn't seem to be discounting for the promo. But I wanted to get it within the hour and have that confirmation. I wasn't able to log on here in time and see that I was only supposed to get one ticket.. Do you think tickets.com will refund me for the price since it wasn't made clear what to do at all?
-
Does anyone else find it fun to watch people get their panties in bunches on the internet or am I just an asshole?
-
Just called the venue, guy said you'd get the free ticket in the mail or at will call.
I'm still skeptical.
-

That's what I'm counting on. ;)
-
This blows. I didn't want to risk only buying one ticket and didn't want to pay full price for two tickets, so I get nothing. Plus I wasted half my morning trying to figure out what the deal was. Next time include a little more info in your emails, 9:30....
-
December and January and to some extent November are traditionally the garbage months for shows. It's probably a slower time of the year for sales, and hence the offer.

I spent the entire hour trying to figure out how the promotion worked and missed my chance.
Any chance they'll give us another opportunity?

Alright folks let me clear up any confusion here.
Anyone who purchased tickets online between 10:00-11:00 will receive 1 free ticket for every ticket purchased. If you paid for 1 ticket you will get that ticket plus an additional free ticket. If you paid for 2 tickets you will get those tickets plus an additional 2 free tickets.
If you set your order for will-call then the ticket(s) you paid for along with your free ticket(s) can be picked up as usual from the box office.
If you asked for your ticket(s) to be mailed to you then the ticket(s) you paid for along with your free ticket(s) will be mailed to you.
-
im looking forward to seeing gwar and clutch anyways but i chose to get them mailed in at the time I was guessing... so i cant treat a friend or will i get them in the mail?.. its bs if i dont.. maybe i could bring my receipt print out to the 930 ticketholder and get my free tick?

Why was that info not provided ahead of time?
-
This was really poorly explained, but I figured maybe I could have gotten the needed information on the forum here. Oops, I tried to register around 10:30 and I only just got an email a few minutes ago.
I wish my lame friends liked Q-Tip
-
OK maybe I am the oddball here but I thought it was all perfectly clear. Tickets weer 2 for 1 from 10:00 - 11:00 this morning. I fail to see what is confusing about that at all. Perhaps Tickets.com could have added a description like "enter the number of tickets you want to pay for, free tickets will be added automatically an the end of your transaction", but the offer described and made by Seth was not confusing to me at all. I was not able to take advantage of the offer, but I think it rocked and was a damn cool gesture on Seth's part or the part of anyone else involved. That's my 2¢ anyway!
-
Oh, and I probably already know the answer to this, but can we get refunds if we purchased more than we originally wanted? I didn't want to miss out on the deal, and now I have too many tickets.
-
I tried buying tickets this morning and when I realzied that it wasn't working, I called Tickets.com - they said it wasn't working and told me to call 930 - they didn't open until noon! I really wanted tickets and if I had known that all I had to do was purchase 1, I'd get two, I would have. So frustrating. Can I still get tickets!
I'll buy Colbie Caillat and Grace Potter tickets from anyone who has extras!

I think MOST of the confusions fell in the fact that NO WHERE did it say you could just magically get the second ticket. I assumed if you bought two tickets the price would come up on the tickets.come page as the price for one ticket. Thats where the confusion came for me... but I figured it out and got my tickets and am still grateful for the promotion.
It just was more of a clusterfuck than it needed to be imho.
-
Can we cease using the godawful word "clusterfuck"?
Who came up with that one, anyway?
-
I still think it's lame that we have to depend on the Club to have its shit in order when we show up in line to get our free ticket/s, because it didn't show a good precedent today. An email that you could print out that said "Dear Such and Such, this letter entitles you to one free ticket for such and such show on January 36th. Sincerely, 9:30 Club," would be nice. With what we have now, we're totally praying that the Club has its shit together and will have a ticket for you, because, as someone pointed out, there is nothing on the confirmation page that says when you bought your tickets. Other tards could roll up to will-call and try to claim they bought during the certain hour and are entitled to the free ticket. Sure, their name might not be on the list for free tickets, but that doesn't mean they can't raise a fuss.
And what if the show sells out? Will the Club keep the allotted free tickets aside for those who deserve them? Other than a late 90s Detroit rave, this is one of the sketchiest endeavors I've ever participated in. Would be nice if both tickets.com (which I'll not work with again) and the Club had their shit together next time.
I'm reserving my "Thanks, Seth," for when I get that free ticket in my hand in December.
-

Does the email you received from tickets.com not have a time on it, presumably somewhere between 10 and 11? I think that will do the trick in the event that all you're praying doesn't work out
-
Here's my thoughts - let's say capacity at 930 is 1200 people. Say 400 tix are already sold for a particular venue and then 500 tix are sold on a 2-for-1 deal ... that's 400+(500x2)=1400 that's 200 more than capacity. I think the 2-for-1 should be done at the checkout in lieu of when you get your tix in the mail or in person -- this way there is no problem w/ not getting your 2-for-1 or a fire code violation. Now I have 2 extras that I don't need!
More info next time is advised!!

Wow, you folks don't give us much credit do you? Based on this post you would think you've had some terrible ticketing experiences at 9:30.
Look folks as I posted above, if you got your tickets online during the set time, you will get your free tickets.
I've never heard of any venue giving such an offer, ever. I would have thought this would have been better received, as in WOW!!! Thanks.
-
yeah like I said, it was a sketch operation. The "how do you actually DO this" was what was sketch. It'd be nice to have some sort of reassurance that we're getting our free ticket, email or something...especially if you're getting a single ticket to a show that may sell out, then if you get there and don't get your date/friend/sister's ticket, you're screwed. That's really the issue here, Rat dear. the Made-up Love is taking this a bit far, but brings up good points. Why are you blaming tickets.com? In all my ticket buying experiences, they've been lovely and customer services has been extremely helpful.
Charlie, clusterfuck is an army term. it holds up and does the job. Sometimes it's the only word that works.
-
I got my Gogol Bordello w/o any issues and am not sketched out.
So thanks!
I'm also a big fan of "clusterfuck" but don't think this was one.
-
this thread is a clusterfuck, however.
if you understood how this 2-for-1 thing worked, you are psychic. there were no instructions.

Yes, this thread is definitely a clusterfuck of epic proportions.
It was more of a wild guess than my being a psychic, though. A wild guess that made the most sense out of the possible options.
-
I'm too paranoid about things going wrong to have hazarded a guess.
I really am amazed at how ungrateful people are, however. This is such an amazing deal.
CAN WE DO IT AGAIN??
-
I bought Loretta Lynn.
-
Look this whole thread is ridiculous. They're giving something free and because a few folks didn't figure it out, they're acting like this "gift" is something they're entitled to and complaining. The flood of newbs whining is bad form.
Second, this wasn't hard to figure out. It said, "maximum of 2 free." Use your brains for a second. If it was supposed to be "you put in how many you want, and then it'll only charge you half" then how the heck could you buy two and get two free since every show was limited to 2 tickets? What would selecting 1 ticket do in that scenario? Simply thinking about things for a second would tell you that you entered the number you were paying for and it'd add that many for free. (Not to mention it told you "this amount will be charged to your credit card" and you clicked yes. Were you thinking that amount was bogus and you were only getting charged half? Really?)
Yes, it would've been nice for more clarity up front since tickets.com didn't change around their entire interface to accommodate one venue's special offer, but all and all I don't see the reason for the whining.
And I'm no 930 fanboi but all the "this is a clusterfuck, the shows are probably all oversold and I won't have my extras at willcall like they promised" nonsense can stop too. 930 Club is visitor-friendly enough that they're going to make sure your free tickets are there, and if they aren't, they'll no doubt rectify it immediately. Everyone settle.

Don't worry. If you don't get to see Colbie, you're not going to be missing anything. I saw her live after interviewing her for a newspaper piece, and she's a sweet girl but barely a musician. I liked her CD but the performance was terribly boring. :( I was sad.
