Happy, happy, joy, joy! (http://www.cnn.com/2003/WORLD/europe/10/02/life.happiness.reut/index.html)

An analysis of levels of happiness in more than 65 countries by the World Values Survey shows Nigeria has the highest percentage of happy people followed by Mexico, Venezuela, El Salvador and Puerto Rico, while Russia, Armenia and Romania have the fewest.
Wtf, Nigeria? Aren't those people starving all the time? Isn't there a civil war happening there every other week? And they're still happy?? Hehehe.. What's their secret?!
I can attest that Puerto Rico has a high percentage of happy people--I'm Puerto Rican and I'm pretty happy most of the time. Hehehehe. :D

As far as Nigeria goes I think they're confusing "happier" with "highppier" ;)
Americans are not happy unless they're complaining about something....just go into any restaurant for proof of that.
The Brits love misery, we thrive on it.

Hey if I was lucky enough to stare at Puerto Rican women all the time, then I would be ecstatic!

I showed this article to a Nigerian colleague yesterday. Here's the answer I got:
"Nigerians have large extended families. Americans are too stressed. Too many worries about bills. Nigerians start to party on Thursday as soon as the whistle blows, even before they leave their jobs. Many don't bother to show up for work on Friday."
