to go or not to go? I thought it would be fun to get my dad and I tickets for his birthday, which is the same day as the concert. the prices are crazy though and I don't know if the venue is worth it. my dad is only a so-so fan, he wouldn't really know any of the material, but I've never seen Bowie. ohhhh decisions decisions...I don't even know if I can afford those buggery tickets. argh
who else is going and how did you make the decision :(

I'm in the same boat as you. I'd love to go and I love Bowie but the tickets are $ and the venue is crap. I still don't know if I am going to go to the REM show for that reason.

I think if you've never seen Bowie you should most definately go. I hate the venue also, but decided to go anyway because my wife has never seen him live. I've seen him loads of times and have never been disapointed with any of his performances....even during his Tin Machine days.
...and the more I think about it $58.50 plus $7,583.00 in service charges is a steal for Bowie if you compare it to $75 for Sprngsteen and $200+ for Simon & Garfunkel.

Is it a sit down show, or is the big middle area standing?
The problem for me is it is a nightmare place to get to and then leave without a car........

Both -- you're typical arena with seats all around, and the floor. Is it general admission?
Yeah, it sucks about the car; don't know how you'd get out there without one.

Here's a car for you...now go buy your ticket yer bollocks!

getting there is Ok with a cab, its getting back home that is a bind.......

David Bowie's singing is just Anthony Newley (http://www.bbc.co.uk/london/entertainment/music/bowie_interview_after2.shtml) on steroids. Always was...always will be. End of story.

Samantha, do you think that your dad would just enjoy a night out on the town with his daughter? He may very much appreciate that no matter what he thinks of Bowie or the venue. I know he'll know you forked out loads of money for the gift. Have you talked to your mom about the idea? What does she think? (If she's even in the equation.) Who knows, maybe she'll help out.

no way my mom thinks david bowie is a freak!
