-
just pulled up (and threw back) 101 row Q seat 54, which is the seat on the inside aisle... not bad at all.

i know this is old news to some, but i just read the tragic story of the guy from california who got beat up by crack heads and high school kids near the black cat, and then died. will such a thing, since it is the cover story of the new city paper, effect the black cat's business? i may be a tough guy in my own mind but i'm a pussy when it's late at night on the sidewalks of most anywhere in dc now. this makes me not want to go to that club unless it's a weekend and i can take metro, because i normally have to drive in or leave early and miss parts of shows and you have to park far away sometimes.

i'll have to re-read, but maybe it didn't happen "exactly near" the black cat, but the club was mentioned numerous times and it's picture was as well, because the gentleman worked there one night before he died, so it made me think it happened right around the corner.

it happened just down the street from the city paper. which is 1 block from cloumbia st.
-
it happened on the street that parallels the adams morgan strip (18th) to the east, nowhere near black cat

walkonby, what does somebody being attacked in DC have to do with radiohead tickets?
or has this become your vanity thread?

if it was for my vanity, i would have posed topless for the photos. azaghal had it right. now i won't walk around adams morgan; not that i did before anyway.

raven symone had to cancel her show at patriot. sad times for these once disney stars. it's even sadder that if raven did meth/herion/crack for awhile, lost all her weight like amy w. did, she could hoist a clive davis comeback into a generation y bother starship that the kids would eat with a spoon.
and why do 2 four piece nuggets (8 nuggets) off the mcdonalds value list cost less than the 6 piece nuggets?
and why are there predominately only black people in mcdonald ads?
-
That's so Raven.
The two double cheesburgers for $2 proposed the same dilemma for a while.

van . . . you make me :D . and please don't think that i'm trying to move in on your smackie knows all thread. i was checking it out, and it really does have a life of it's own. this is just my own mini-therapy for free.

walkonby, where do you live? i'll bet that a violent crime has recently happened right in your neighborhood. so what's the answer - never leave home? if you stop going everywhere that had a random act of violence, you won't be left with many places to go.
<cue up the stats about being many times more likely to die in a car crash or be hit while crossing the street than being a victim of a beating>

you would love where i live. i have 360 degree views of mountains and it's like my house sits in the middle of the national forest. (i'm in a valley near a place called elizabeth furnace.) hiking, mountain biking, camping, kayaking, waterfalls, are less than two miles down the road. my neighbors are cows and wildlife. the closest house to me is a couple who have been married for fifty-seven years and they sell fresh eggs to anybody. the only thing being killed out here are the deer/raccoons/skunks who can't run fast enough from your headlights. and they only beat housewives after twenty-one natty-ices, i think. keep your city life, darling, green acres i'm here to stay.
-
I also feel a bit less safe walking in DC now than ever before. I got beat up by a couple of kids on my way to H st. 2 weekends ago and it was only about 8 or 9pm, and i was just a few blocks from Union Station. I guess in 6 years, given the amount of walking alone that I do in this city, it's not too bad, but it definitely struck a bit of fear into me.

it's sad to say that video game/music/movie violence does have an effect on dumbshits that are the youth of today.
-
[old man rant]You little Nancy Boys don't know what dangerous is. Back when I was your age, you wouldn't be caught dead at 14th & T after dark unless you were looking to score some rock. And you are crying about some dope fiend who got beat up and then OD'ed on Vicodin?? Back in the day, we had eight murders a week.
You little pantywaists......[/old man]

is it because the new album is not that good (haven't heard it yet) or the fact the show is on the same day as rem . . . but i would have thought the breeders would be sold out by now.
-
I think the Breeders show was on soft sale for a while, so not too many people from the "outside" world knew about it...and the REM show will definitely impact how fast it sells out (if it does at all).

I would have thought after all these years, Kim Deal would have been able to come up with at least one or two actual tunes. I was hoping for a little more "Last Splash" and a little less "Title TK."

does violence realism (not the violence itself, but the realistic qualities that games/music/movies have achieved over the years) truly effect people who play/listen/view them? i've played games my whole life since chopper command on the atari 2600, watched horror films since Sleepaway Camp first came out on VHS and not one of them has made me evil. lots of people feel the same way. but so many kids today are uncaring thugs who act out rants of "i do what i want." the parents are to blame some, the individual's mental state fares its share as well, but what percentage nowadays of the human action control experience comes from entertainment outlets?
-
I'm with Brian. Out of loyalty I'll go to the show, but the new album is pretty Snoozeville. Personally, though, I was hoping for a little more "Pacer," but hey, what can you do?

i know we need to cater to a "new" generation, but jimmy fallon is going to ruin conan's show, and conan will ruin jay's. sort of like if johnny had given the tonight show to joan.
-
is brian on vacation or what? or is he . . . just gone?
-
he's swimming at nissan

i'm red. like a lobster. red lobster. the beach was so nice, and the strange looks as i read an aleister crowley book to the sounds of water beating against life pains in grains of women picking their suits out of their asses, was nice. i gave my ice cream to a shark, and now i've got nothing to eat.
stay away from the new jalapeno burger from hardees. tasty . . . but your constitution hates you later.
-
Sounds like you are burning both inside and out. :o
Can't wait to get to the beach myself! If only work weren't such a bitch to get any time for myself.
