My gosh. Not that I'm wishing for this, but if "they" ever were to attack us with maybe a small nuclear warhead or maybe just a bio-virus that spontaneuosly causes the infected to take a shower....I'm just saying between June 12th and June 15th in Manchester, Tennessee wouldn't be a BAD time...
Metallica and.....LED ZEPPELIN !?!?!??! to headline Bonnaroo? (http://www.nme.com/news/led-zeppelin/32939)
Throw in Radiohead headlining and you could eliminate a LOT of America's problems with one fell swoop.

Your posts are predictable and boring. This will be the last time I ever look at one of your posts.

Don't tease me.

i will most definitely be at bonnaroo this year.
not because led zeppelin and metallica will be there.
but because walalce and his ilk won't.
and as jeff pointed out, you really need some new material. you claim to hate the classics, yet you recycle the same routine like you are the eagles or the rolling stones. congrats, your hate has made you just like that which you most despise.
-
This was already debunked. At least the metallica part.
-
odds that jeffml is actually brian wallace?

God help me...or strike me dead!

For your sins of worshipping the Almighty Classic Rock, both can be arranged.

What? So you can play the "X Band would not BE HERE if it weren't for (insert The Beatles, Kraftwerk, some other boring old band)!" card? No way. I'm not that dumb.
Brian
P.S. Chaz, are you really Jann Wenner or Dave Marsh?

Actually not at all. You seem to know so much about everyone here, I just want to know a little about you. But if you're too scared, that's ok.
PS I don't know who those people are.

You're lucky. Those two men are responsible for the fact that you can't dance to any rock music today. They took the "roll" out of "rock and roll."

walalce has gone on record as an admirer of Fall Out Boy and My Chemical Romance (both of which would not BE HERE if it weren't for people who lack the ability to recognize talent), if that's of any help.

With the mention of Jann Wenner and Dave Marsh (one a journalist that for years has covered music and the other the publisher of Rolling Stone magazine, both of them very involved in the R&R Hall of Fame), Brian seems to present himself as a kind of "outcast" of music.
The sad thing is both of his favorite bands, MCR and FOB are nothing like the original punk that perhaps could represent more Brian's allegedly revolutionary spirit, like Sex pistols just to name one of them...
-
no, in certain ways FOB and MCR are a lot like the sex pistols, for example they're all the product their managers want them to be.

....blah, blah, blah. The Sex Pistols and The Clash are just as pathetic and money-grubbing as The Rolling Stones or U2. Television ads, "reunion" tours, etc.
I'd say Fugazi had/have a revolutionary spirit. The outsider "punk" mythos of The Pistols and The Clash are just that. A myth.
Brian
-
When is the Clash reunion tour?
-
How is Fugazi "outsider"? Weren't they all upper middle class white males from suburban DC? Hardly sounds like an outsider. It's not like they were Pennsylvania rednecks.

Basically, what it comes down to is unless an artist has the BW stamp of approval they aren't allowed to make any money. So FOB is allowed to provide music for god awful cellphone commercials, but heaven forbid a cover done by The Clash bring in a little cash to them and Toots Hibbert.

Wait, is that Pete Wentz with a The Who logo on his back?, the nerve!
-
If this line-up does come to pass, then my prediction for 2009 will be the pairing of Cream and AC/DC. How awesome would that be!
-
and a mandy moore/lindsay lohan tent.
-
maybe zep + metallica will scare away all the jam-band hippies, and make bonnaroo tolerable for once...
-
Jam-band hippies > Meathead metal douche bags
