Echos my feelings exactly. From what I've heard (on this board) Rams Head Live is hit or miss and still has some kinks to work out, certainly not worth $65. He will certainly not play all the songs I want to hear either.

The one at the Trap like 2 years ago?
I didn't have to pay, as I was a wolftrap employee, but it was disappointing. He played primarily songs off the new album he was promoting at the time. He wasn't as chatty or upbeat as he had been on previous times I had seen him.
Other times i've seen him live have been awesome...I wouldn't pay $65 for him though.

yeah, not enough rockin' stuff, all slow songs

I heard he's gonna have David Hidalgo in his band this time, so that might sound good. Also I hope he's got a different bass player: the guy at the DAR show I saw wasn't very good in the mix. It wasn't Bruce Thomas who always sounded great. Nonetheless, like the rest of you tightwads I ain't payin' that much to see him

Yeah, I chatted about this earlier. It's cheaper if you see him/them at the NorVa. Or SXSW for that matter. Or a few other venues on his schedule. I want to see him but the $ is too steep. Rams Head Live is a decent venue to see him play. Also, saw his video on a dvd sampler - I dunno if I could take more than an hour from him. So, yeah, I dig 'em, but I'm out.

Crikey, when a man has a catalogue like he does, isn't that expecting an awful lot?

Sure does. But I think kc was saying he will be promoting his new album, probably tossing in a few hits but the personal faves or obscure songs may not be frequent on this tour.
