For all of us who got shut out of tix?
-
This is going to piss alot of people off but my g/f and I got there @ 7 and saw a bunch of people looking for tix. I wasn't feeling that good about it at first, but low and behold, some older dude said to us, "I think they are actually selling tickets at the box office".. so my g/f went in while I held the "peace sign" outside looking for two.. two minutes later, she came out with two tickets.. 7th row center... just released... and I think most everyone else looking were able to get them, as well. (told ya you'd be mad.) :p
Show was AWESOME. Great mix of stand-up comedy/music. They played all the "hits" ..."business time" "I'm not crying" "hiphopipotomos" ..and mixed it in with hilarious banter.. "Is the President here? ...Do you think he might show up?" I haven't laughed that hard in quite a while. Had we not been guestlisted for Tim Reynolds & TR3 @The State Theatre, I think we would have tried to go to the 10 o'clock show, as well.
They played alot of new songs, too.. so maybe a new season??? *fingers crossed*

I think it is great that they "drop" tickets the night of the show. It is a great way to thwart the scalpers. Springsteen does this all the time (as well as releasing prime seats online the day of the show or a few days prior). This way you don't have to fall prey to the scalpers selling tix at 3-4 times the face value. If only I had known that Lisner does the same, but it does makes sense that a university would have tix on the day of the concert.
Glad to hear it was a great show...I'll catch them next time.
